Ya but getting jumped by Uber crit phlog is a good way to lose half your team. Soldier and demo have limited clip size , heavy minigun isn’t AoE so some teammates are spared if they hide fast enough.
I think it would at least stop people from spamming flare gun shots from spawn until they get it fully charged, in which there's almost no risk of dying before deploying it.
Honestly, I don't think that's a problem - the Phlog's crits aren't that big of a deal. Sure, they do a lot of damage, but if you want to get more than a couple of kills with it you're going to need to either do a pretty good flank or predict when the enemies are going to push, and that isn't as easy as it seems.
That's true, but I've played against pyros who just spammed scorch shots from a safe distance with a Medic pocketing them, and then charge in with both full crits and invulnerability every minute or so. It's very hard to stop them unless your entire team is aware of them doing so, which they usually aren't.
True, but my point is that even if Medics couldn't uber phlog pyros, pyros would probably still spam flaregun/scorch shots from across the map to safely build their phlog charge. That combined with having enough health to shrug off a single uncharged headshot or fully charged bodyshot makes them even more annoying and unfun to play against than Snipers already are.
