Not super important or anything but it was really cool hopping into a game and running into this medic wearing the 1 of 1 sunbeams Max's Severed Head. If anybody is confused, this hat is a genuine 1 of 1 as Max's Severed Head cannot be unusual. The only way this person must have obtained it is through reporting a game breaking bug to Valve. Then Valve would personally gift a player an untradable unusual of their choice as a reward. This hat is probably around 15 years old too. Super cool that he is still actively playing and wearing this super cool hat!
I thought they just gave you that one unique cap with a bug on it for reporting game breaking bugs? Have they always been doing this giving you any unusual thing all this time ?
They used to give whatever hat & effect you wanted, but a lot of the contention comes from the point where someone was granted Unusual Wiki Cap and the TF2 Wiki Staff complained that their unique hat was granted outside of their group.
Therefore, The Finder's Fee was Valve's solution... Which is just a bummer.

I have a Wiki Cap so I get why they were upset. To get the Wiki Cap you gotta put in months and months of work to improve the wiki in a multitude of ways. Wearing a wiki cap makes you an ambassador/representative for the wiki. Just giving it to someone who's never even made a single edit on the wiki because they fixed a bug feels kinda lame.
I agree that the Finder's Fee is pretty weak sauce, but the wiki cap should stick to wiki contributors.

While we're on the topic, how do I get the killcam / spectator cam to show me the cosmetics someone is wearing? Mine just shows me the weapons someone has, which I presume is an accessibility feature, but I've been playing TF2 for over a decade, I KNOW what all the weapons do. I want to see all the crazy cosmetics someone has, to decide if I want to acquire one of my own.
In spectate, you press the button you use to inspect your weapon. You can also look at someone and press the inspect key. You gotta press it multiple times to find the cosmetic you’re looking for. You can’t do that for the killcam though.
