More Cybercab out testing - CA and TX
  • 5 points oswell_pepper

Just to be clear, if this “Cybercab” goes on sale tomorrow, it would just be an electric coupe with steering wheel and pedals like normal cars, right?

Do they have regulator approval to ship the vehicle without steering wheel and pedals?

Wake me when they have more than 5 taxis out at the same time.

My favourite method of investing is to bet on the outcome before it happens. Rear-view investing and dividend yields is for schmucks lol.

For sure. We're trying to guess the future and reap outsized benefits if correct. If I wasn't id just buy an index and be done with it

why do they stop more than a full car length back? This would frustrate drivers when only 5 cars can get through an intersection instead of 10-12.

The only video I've seen shows a steering wheel too...

Yeah, every robotaxi does. You can jump in the front seat of a waymo and grab the wheel.

Private mobile couch to watch netflix on your journey? For cheaper than the bus? Cha-ching.

Cheaper than the bus? Good luck with that.

Robotaxi has a better chance of existing in my area than a fast, efficient, reliable, cheap metro bus system does

Cheaper per mile? Or cheaper per inner city journey?

You better short the stock then.

Are you implying that it won't work, or that people won't use it?

For the former, I say "sure, place your bets"

For the latter, I refer to Waymo adoption curve plus the countless anecdotes of Waymo users who say "Yeah, I'm not using uber ever again, this is way better"

    Not if FSD goes unsupervised.

Did they say if there’s plans to sell the cyber cab to consumers at all? Or is it strictly for robotaxi use.
