Nooo I didn’t need to know that info lol. Pretty despicable though. About two years after having my first kid I had to go to inpatient to get my meds regulate and get in a better headspace. The last thing my husband and I were thinking about was banging. The fact they were having sex unprotected when cate was so unstable is even wilder. I just don’t understand. We have birth control that literally works for ten years at a time now. You don’t even have to take a pill daily or get a shot monthly. It’s so easy to protect yourself.
Cate is such a manipulative gremlin and she’s an albatross around Tyler’s neck. He doesn’t know enough about relationships and other people to know that when someone threatens you that they’ll kill themselves, you’re being manipulated.
He’s not totally wrong here. His mental health, wants and needs matter too. Catelynn’s mental health tends to get priority, and he was clearly very overwhelmed at the time this was filmed. But, now they’re desperate to spread the narrative that this wasn’t the case and he hasn’t been threatening to leave her or been unhappy in his marriage. As if we didn’t see this playing out for multiple seasons. It’s not like there’s just a couple of scenarios, there have been many.

He only came back to her when they found out that the show was coming back. They also didn't contact Carly during thst time as well...

Having a partner who struggles with depression can be exhausting. Both people in a relationship have needs that need to be met, and if you feel like yours are never being met because of your partner's mental health, that can be really hard and draining. Taking care of your own needs by seeing a therapist can be really helpful here.
Personally, I don't think that he's necessarily talking about sexual needs here, but if so, see item 1.
