I read this a few times before I figured out wtf you were saying and I grew up in a home that had anywhere from 20-30 cats living on the property at a time(people used to use my grandmas yard as a dumping ground for cats snd she did her best to care for them, providing meds, fixing, feeding, outdoor shelters, etc)... I got it now though hahahh 🤣🤣

It sounds like I’m some weird perv. I told my adult daughter that lives hours away about a cute little orange kitten around my house. She told me that orange kitties are usually boys. She told me to looked at its private parts aka “sexing a cat” because she was curious. I had no idea what I was looking for so I had to go online for comparison pics.

Orange cats are definitely usually Tom's, but there is the rare occasion of a female orange tabby. To make it easier on you next time esp if you're looking at a mature cat, just look for the balls right under the anus of the kitty.. If they're babies sometimes it's a bit harder to tell, but adult males are pretty easy to distinguish from the females. I can usually tell if it's a Tom or not by the size of their heads especially ferals. Oh and in case you did not know, if their ears are tipped they are apart of a TNR colony(neuter and released).
