Not everywhere, in Greece, people sometimes don't issue the proper Death Certificate, so we routinely have people in our demographic of 140+ year olds.
Of course it's fraud in order to collect pension. But you know.. demographics
You could have always been unable to buy a house or start a family AND be forced to commute on an overcrowded, filled with filth and trash train to work every day for pennies in India.
Yea, then they can enjoy the various social programs that were put in place by the warring generation then pull up the ladder and dismantle them all, then call the generation after them “weak.”
You can still buy a house. I keep seeing this everywhere; I was approved for a house making $9/hour in 2013. You can easily get a house making $15-20 now.
$85k at the time, there’s still some in the area anywhere from 90-160; there are a good few on the low end that aren’t horrible. I’ve talked to people around here and they said there’s still cheaper areas yet.
Not sure where PA is but explains it if you're American. You guys have really affordable housing, one of the only things I'm slightly jealous of lol. Here a 1 bedroom 1 bathroom is usually about 450k USD even out in the country away from anywhere.
Most Russians live near Europe, the rest of it is massive, but also very sparsely populated. So the chances of being born there are so low there is no point even making a distinction.
European part should be attached to Europe on this map and Asian part to Asia. Anything else is just wrong. Also population os Asian part of Russia is like ~26% of people in country, but it's still 1.5x more people than in Australia
There are some more reliable sources including the ones that Wiki reference to, but they are all in Russian, still we can dive into this data if we really want to.
The percentage I told initially was based on population and not birth dates though, didn't think about it. So probably not 26% of birth rates in Russia goes to Asian parts, but population numbers are even easier to find.
That is not what we were talking about though. That data doesn't have clear results for "European Russia" and "Asian Russia", even though you can get such results after categorising the regions into corresponding groups (though there are regions located on both sides of Europe/Asia border, so it will not be exactly accurate either).
Are you going to pay OP to go through this work? It doesn’t even make sense, continents are an abstract concept, the world doesn’t even agree on what the continents are and some people consider Eurasia a single continent
Probably not, looks like it’s just someone posting shit for fun on Reddit. It still has a watermark from the website they used to create it and this is useless data, it’s just a funny way of looking at fertility rate of different continents.
Also, you were mad about russia, but OP also included Central America into South America and half the countries of Oceania he included into Asia.
26% is purely population statistics, ±37M people live in there. Of course it won't feel like it because of huge territory and low population density, but these are pure numbers.
That's a compelling reason to apportion it correctly, if you're trying to get an accurate comparison by continent. Properly counting the Asian part of Russia as Asian would bring that country's average down significantly, and paint a clearer picture.
It's more like, they've divided the continent of Asia into the northern and southern half. Europe is just a peninsula of Asia and the only reason we think differently is because white people have a stick up their ass
It's small and fluffy, it resembles a small bear or a koala but the truth is that it's a lethal war machine. It waits patiently for you hidden on a tree and when you, unaware, pass by, it jumps on you and scratches, bites, and tears. Nothing escapes its claws, its teeth, its terrible ferocity. No one has ever survived an attack. So if you go to Australia, keep your sight high and never pass under a tree without prior inspection.
Yeah, broadly, east half is much better. Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China, Singapore are good. Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand are decent. Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, North Korea are bad.
On the West, it's India, Pakistan, Middle East, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, etc. Most of it is fucked up, especially if you're a woman or you're born in a poor family.
Yeah, I agree, though Kazakhstan and the other -stans (except for Afghanistan, Turkmenistan and Pakistan) are decent, for sure better than Myanmar, maybe also better than Indonesia or Philippines.
Are Laos and Cambodia really worse than Vietnam, Indonesia and Philippines? I don't think those three are on the same level as Malaysia.
This phrasing annoys me me in the original post. It's not a probability thing, it's a repartition. I did not had a 50% chance of being born in Asia, I had a 100% chance of being born where my mother was when I was born. We are not in a hub waiting to be born like in the Pixar Soul, with a chance of randomly being born somewhere. We are our parents' offspring and our ancestors' descendants.
So no, it's not "chances" of being born anywhere...
Still no. I didn't pick them but it's not like I got attributed to them at random, I am half of both. I didn't chose my parents but I didn't have a 50% chance of having Asian parents. If I had Asian parents, that would simply not be me!
it's not like I got attributed to them at random, I am half of both.
Since your parents are overwhelmingly likely to live around the same place, I don't see how that matters?
I didn't have a 50% chance of having Asian parents.
How do you know who becomes "you", aka the self conscious entity that you perceive as yourself? How is it hard to imagine that "you" might as well have been the kid of some asian parents? Just because you ended up not?
You think we are in the Pixar movie Soul do you? Or maybe you believe in reincarnation?
In all likelihood souls don't exist, and all of what we attribute to souls is located in the brain. Said brain is formed by nature (genes transmitted by parents) and nurture (he education given by parents and the society around).
I couldn't have been born from Asian parents, because it wouldn't have been me at all.
That still implies that it matters who you in particular is (or is not, in that case), which is different from it not mattering. But since this leads nowhere, and since I don't like this peak redditor behavior of petty-downvoting every reply in what is essentially a 1to1 conversation at this point, let's just not.
The irrational responses you give me are way more frustrating than any potential downvote.
It's not about me in particular, it works for everyone! Since you didn't like that I took myself for the example let's take Jack.
I am saying that Jack had 0% chance of being not-Jack (because if he was, let's say John, then he wouldn't be Jack in the first place). If Jack is John then Jack is not Jack.
If someone being themselves doesn't matter as you claim, then you are pondering the probability of Jack being John. It doesn't make any sense!
We weren't parachuted into the spacetime continuum from outside to some random place and time. We're a direct product of the place and time we're born into.
what if you're just dead after you die, ever considered that? what type of culture is this here, i thought nobody is reborn in christianity. or are you afraid of being born in india, because thats where you were actually born and you speak from experience?
Right? I feel like the follow-up comment allowed for SOME degree of possibility by explicitly establishing a precision of ONLY two places past the decimal than if they'd just said "0" instead.
IDK, I expect there's at least 1 place out there that lets you pay to have some kinky ″being born″ experience. So at least 1 continent has to be above 0%.
That's really stupid when you think about it. It's like if everyone was on a conveyor belt of souls or something and we go wherever someone is born, no matter where, so in the end it's just a % of births in the world.
It's a joke map based on an assumption that I find assinine.

can someone do a chances of dying in each continent in 2026
100%
which continent
Yes
Yes
Yes
March 14th 7:19 A.M.
That’s my birthday 🙂
And now its your deathday congratulations
pi day... should've been at 3:14am
or 1:59 am?
Yes.
Ocean
Don't think there is a 100% chance I'm dying next year. But now I'm worried
For a fee we can guarantee it 💯
Ill pay it, name your price
Depending where you live, imagine seeing the odds of your death stats come up at the end of the day.
I used to think about this when I lived in Los Angeles, the odds are ever in my favor.
Just 2 weeks ago some dude was driving home and a tree fell, landed on his car killing him instantly.
A while back someone was shot at a convenience store that I had visited a half hour before the shooting. I think about that every so often.
Did you drink water?
It is not 100%, it never is.
Until it is
It's like reaching infinity. You can never reach it.
unless you're terminally ill, then it's 100%
Actually it’s 0%, you can only die on one continent
What if you lie across continental divide and die there?
Then you died in a maximum of two continents which is still not enough for our question
The nukes will blow us up so bad, our remains will be scattered everywhere.
Not everywhere, in Greece, people sometimes don't issue the proper Death Certificate, so we routinely have people in our demographic of 140+ year olds. Of course it's fraud in order to collect pension. But you know.. demographics
Mass Extinction Event of ‘26 yayyy
How many people have died on Antarctica I’m curious now
Too many
I’m pretty sure I can only die on one, not each of them.
If you alt + F4 you get a second try right?
I'm hoping for Latin America this time. For the plot.
I wouldn't recommend it 😔
Well I'm built different
Does the plot involve CIA handing you hundreds of millions to start a coup or something
No ass and titties and brown women.
Thats the reward after you become the absolute military dictator, yes?
Well after I say hello
i'm soft resetting a better spawn
Hello hello
No windows + X + U + U
So we get a “good spawn” and still can never afford to buy a house or start a family?
Idk how old you are, but chances are those numbers would be way different when you were born.
You could have always been unable to buy a house or start a family AND be forced to commute on an overcrowded, filled with filth and trash train to work every day for pennies in India.
It could be worse for sure, but that doesn’t mean we have to be happy that our countries are failing the next generation.
Just wait till the next world war concluded and it’ll be our generation’s turn to ride that post war boom that boomers enjoyed (maybe)
Yea, then they can enjoy the various social programs that were put in place by the warring generation then pull up the ladder and dismantle them all, then call the generation after them “weak.”
Exactly. Take that, Gen Gamma/Delta/Epsilon/Zeta!
You can still buy a house. I keep seeing this everywhere; I was approved for a house making $9/hour in 2013. You can easily get a house making $15-20 now.
Lol
Where are you from and how much was the house, out of curiosity?
$85k at the time, there’s still some in the area anywhere from 90-160; there are a good few on the low end that aren’t horrible. I’ve talked to people around here and they said there’s still cheaper areas yet.
South western PA, near Pittsburgh.
Not sure where PA is but explains it if you're American. You guys have really affordable housing, one of the only things I'm slightly jealous of lol. Here a 1 bedroom 1 bathroom is usually about 450k USD even out in the country away from anywhere.
Everyone here thinks housing is never going to be achieved by anyone under 40. It’s kind of crazy.
how tf the whole Russia is Europe
Most Russians live near Europe, the rest of it is massive, but also very sparsely populated. So the chances of being born there are so low there is no point even making a distinction.
European part should be attached to Europe on this map and Asian part to Asia. Anything else is just wrong. Also population os Asian part of Russia is like ~26% of people in country, but it's still 1.5x more people than in Australia
It's probably harder to get specific data on births in specific parts of Russia than it is to get national data.
Russia might as well be it's own continent then🤷
Do you have statistics sources that would give separate data for Russia according to these lines?
Will be hated for this, but Wiki is a reliable source for that since it acummulated data in tables.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_federal_subjects_of_Russia_by_total_fertility_rate

Are you going to pay OP to go through this work? It doesn’t even make sense, continents are an abstract concept, the world doesn’t even agree on what the continents are and some people consider Eurasia a single continent
Well someone probably paid OOP for this bad map
Probably not, looks like it’s just someone posting shit for fun on Reddit. It still has a watermark from the website they used to create it and this is useless data, it’s just a funny way of looking at fertility rate of different continents.
Also, you were mad about russia, but OP also included Central America into South America and half the countries of Oceania he included into Asia.
Why put the burden on some random person instead of the person who made the ridiculous map?
As a russian, i cannot tell you that it feels like 26%. More like 5-10%, mostly workers from the western parts btw.
26% is purely population statistics, ±37M people live in there. Of course it won't feel like it because of huge territory and low population density, but these are pure numbers.
Ok, i'll take your word for it
That's a compelling reason to apportion it correctly, if you're trying to get an accurate comparison by continent. Properly counting the Asian part of Russia as Asian would bring that country's average down significantly, and paint a clearer picture.
They also seem to count central America to South america, which should count towards north America instead
Because it wouldn't be worth the effort to seperate the like 3 people that live in the Asian part of Russia out of the statistic
Easier for statistics that agregate by country.
And why Europe and asia is continenta
It's more like, they've divided the continent of Asia into the northern and southern half. Europe is just a peninsula of Asia and the only reason we think differently is because white people have a stick up their ass
Dang it’s kinda crazy that I’m not Asian or African with odds like these
Ukraine has done well for itself!
0.52 ?
surely this isn't accurate
It is!! Only a small amount of land in Australia is habitable (around 5%), so the population there is a lot lesser than we think
And anyone who knows about Australia's animals won't dare to live there...
Especially the drop bear...
Oh noo... R.I.P for anyone who saw the drop bear🙏
The ones that saw it were the lucky ones. They got to run while the drop bear's prey was torn limb from limb.
Yeah but if they "actually" saw a drop bear, they must have been living in hell and technically dead, so RIP...
Technically the truth even if it's a bit half assed...
Mate, they are more dangerous than the snakes, spiders, or sharks. You keep your fucking distance!
Hate to be that guy, but what is a drop bear?
It's small and fluffy, it resembles a small bear or a koala but the truth is that it's a lethal war machine. It waits patiently for you hidden on a tree and when you, unaware, pass by, it jumps on you and scratches, bites, and tears. Nothing escapes its claws, its teeth, its terrible ferocity. No one has ever survived an attack. So if you go to Australia, keep your sight high and never pass under a tree without prior inspection.
I’ll just never go to Australia
how many people do you think live there?
it's 27.5m for Australia, 5.5m for New Zealand and Roughly 12 million for PNG
45 million all up. divide that my the world population of 8 billion. times 100 give us 0.56% of the world population.
in line with the number of live births.
To put that number in perspective the UK population is 70 million despite having a tiny fraction of the land area.
It’s not. And don’t call me Shirley.
Yeah. I migrated from Russia 10 years ago to Australia. My 2 youngest kids were born here. These kids won 1/200 chance in a lottery
Australia has a population of ~24m. Same as Taiwan. So yeah tiny.
They don't count it when the dingos immediately eat the baby.
Please add Antarctica.
Yeah, I looked it up too. 11 people have been born in Antarctica since 1978, so it's not a non-zero chance.
Isn’t Central America part of North America ? And part of Russia in Asia ?
I find it curious how they teach that North and South America are separate continents within a few countries...
In Brazil, they teach that America is a single continent with three subdivisions: North America, Central America, and South America.
Of the 49.69%, the lucky third will be born in the eastern half, the unlucky 2/3rd will be born in the western half.
Some of those born in the eastern half will be born in NK though, so not that lucky.

Are Laos and Cambodia really worse than Vietnam, Indonesia and Philippines? I don't think those three are on the same level as Malaysia.
Why TF is Eurasia divided this way.
Its the easiest to do statistically, as this data is probably collected nationwide
Some areas on this map are not a good place to be born in, even if they are on the same continent.
Who’s deciding where the lines are being drawn between continents? Especially between Red & Green and between Blue & Yellow
Europe looks quite large in this map.
It's a map of potential parents
Yes exactly, so the title is poorly worded!
😲😲😲😲
Can you prove that they have lied about it??!
Yes, but you didn't exactly get to pick who your parents are, so from your own pre-birth POV, it is essentially a probabilistic thing.
Still no. I didn't pick them but it's not like I got attributed to them at random, I am half of both. I didn't chose my parents but I didn't have a 50% chance of having Asian parents. If I had Asian parents, that would simply not be me!
What if your dad nutted in your mom missionary vs doggy? Would you still be you?
Wut? It's the cell that matters!
Since your parents are overwhelmingly likely to live around the same place, I don't see how that matters?
How do you know who becomes "you", aka the self conscious entity that you perceive as yourself? How is it hard to imagine that "you" might as well have been the kid of some asian parents? Just because you ended up not?

I couldn't have been born from Asian parents, because it wouldn't have been me at all.
Neither
It doesn't matter whether it would be "you".
Well if it isn't me, then it's just someone else that is born in Asia. So it is, as I said, repartition and not probability.
That still implies that it matters who you in particular is (or is not, in that case), which is different from it not mattering. Talk about frustrating responses lol.
If that's your thinking there'd be a >99% you'd be a single cell organism
Would it matter? Do they not live on continents (in addition to oceans)?
Yeah, it would be better framed as the chances of having been born on each continent.
Just one reason why the Doomsday Argument is bunk.
We weren't parachuted into the spacetime continuum from outside to some random place and time. We're a direct product of the place and time we're born into.
So really this is a baby distribution map.
are you an orange cat by any chance?
Huh? I don't get the reference... Garfield?
I'm only scared to die because I could possibly be reborn in India or China
I mean it's not that bad all things considered, you could be reborn in Detroit. /s
what if you're just dead after you die, ever considered that? what type of culture is this here, i thought nobody is reborn in christianity. or are you afraid of being born in india, because thats where you were actually born and you speak from experience?
dude. What? Other religions exist besides Christianity, some of which believe in reincarnation.
Central America is part of North America, not South.
I wonder if this is based solely on population or if it factors in birthrate also.
Russia and not russia are on the Same ASIAN continent, why is it colored differently?
"0.000% (repeating of course)"
that is not the asia that i know
Man I got lucky I was born in North America
I don't know about lucky
Yes, lucky. As bad as it is in America, it is still better than somewhere like Somalia or North Korea.
No, he got lucky
Maybe you need more education.
Asia still being this high is absolutely baffling. Good god India and China do you not already have enough people? THATS ENOUGH SLICES!!!!
As a high precision machinist, what's the tolerance on that figure? X.XX usually has a tolerance of +/- 0.1 (assuming metric)
Right? I feel like the follow-up comment allowed for SOME degree of possibility by explicitly establishing a precision of ONLY two places past the decimal than if they'd just said "0" instead.
0.00 > 0
It says "the chance" not "your chance", so not technically the truth
Someone doesn't believe in reincarnation.
If people really believed in reincarnation, Africa would be getting lit rn.
IDK, I expect there's at least 1 place out there that lets you pay to have some kinky ″being born″ experience. So at least 1 continent has to be above 0%.
me calculating the odds of where my baby might land once i have it and whether it's worth the risk:
Damn I’m an SSR
Girl Americans ain’t having no kids cuz that shit is expensive
Correct. Given you're not being born in 2026, moot as hell but technically correct.
So, if you have kids it's almost 50:50 likely that one will come out Asian?
No, but when a baby is born somewhere on Earth, there’s almost a 50% chance it’s born in Asia
And to think half this country demanded more. They should be ashamed of their greed. Oh wait never mind they are just proud of it...
Could be born again in 2026
Where’s Antarctica?
it's so over for us whites bros
Europe now include most of Asia?
Neither Chinese nor Indian, I got lucky
Treating this like a battle Royale where you have to grow up
Thank God, im not Indian or smth
I didn't have to wait 2026... I come from 5/ 7 of them. Feeling blessed!
russia is part of asia more than rurope
I would rephrase that chance of being reincarnated on each continent, since soul and body is different term
Вы че там курите, почему Украина такая большая 🤯
So we're just gonna keep pretending that Russia is Europe?
Russia isn’t part of Asia?
Central America should be in red. Part of North America.🙄
What are the chances of living to adulthood on each continent? Probably inverse.
Ah, yes. Those famous continents North Eurasia and South Eurasia.
you're telling me I had a 3% chance of being born in the worst country on the planet and THOSE are the odds I beat? end it now
edit: less than 3%, I didn't catch that it was separated by continent
7.08% gang 🟢🟩💚
Thats 1 for yes and 1 for no. Probability = 50%
That's really stupid when you think about it. It's like if everyone was on a conveyor belt of souls or something and we go wherever someone is born, no matter where, so in the end it's just a % of births in the world.
It's a joke map based on an assumption that I find assinine.
There are only 5 continents if you excule antartica.... I can see 6 there, WHAT THE FACK
The Asian kids are still going strong
Europe is not a continent, but India is. I will die on this hill.
Why is Central America lumped with South America when it is part of North America?
Those numbers are skewed by asian propaganda, because their birth rates are only robust in india. Africa's is higher than this false model shows.
I've never seen the continents split up like that. Not a terrible idea either
Remember how lucky we are. And we did nothing to deserve it. Maybe it's time we did....
Im the 0.52 percent
The Europe/Asia split is all kinds of wrong. Bad map.
Also north and South America. The Caribbean is a part of North America
So’s Central America
these are the continents usa wise
They got Central America wrong.
Why is Russia part of Europe?
It’s in Europe and Asia. Most of the population is in Europe.
India is hard carrying that yellow part
Well, the real probability is 100% because there is no such thing as a "you".
