I was obsessed with the concept of blacklight tattoos like 15 years ago but I remember reading that the ink isn't widely considered safe either. With tattoo artist prices these days who wants to pay for something invisible anyways
getting the hat in white ink (assuming you have a lighter skin tone) would also get the metaphor across, while still being visible without a gimmicky light, just an idea
There are YouTube videos on this. It takes years to get the ink, it comes in tiny amounts, it’s expensive, it takes practice to use it right. You’d be looking for a needle in a haystack and therefore be paying a lot extra.
I got part of my tattoo with UV ink, not only did it fade quickly, but everytime I went into the sun those lines would get sunburned. I never looked into the science behind it, but it always weirded me out.
im p sure it works by absorbing the light and re using it to light up, so makes sense it'd burn whatever skin is above it, literally getting sunlight from inside your body
I have no idea, watch the video. This becomes visible after exposure to light and allegedly goes away after exposure to a different light. Might be fake.
Doesnt last. Got 2 small ones on my face and they were completely gone in a few years.
I also realized that I was rarely ever around black lights 😂
Edit: I guess this isn’t the same. I got a black light tattoo.
I have a UV tattoo, it glowed for probably 2 years? Cool for the shirt term but unless you hang out where there’s black lights no one really sees it shine
When I was a kid I bought this awesome t-shirt while on summer holiday in Florida. It was white with a black design, but when I wore it in the sun, parts of the shirt turned really bright blue, adding to the design.
Cut to me wearing it back home, in the UK, and even on the brightest sunny days it only went slightly blue, couldn't really tell what it was supposed to look like.
I feel like unless you live somewhere really sunny, or constantly carry one of those little torches around just to show it off, a tattoo like this is going to be pointless.

VERIFY AS AN ARTIST
(Vote has already ended)
Physics work differently in Canada. Won’t work there
Can confirm am Canadian. Sorry.
Can confirm he's Canadian, he said sorry.
Excuse me, who's the expert here? That being said, definitely Canadian
No sorry detected. Username does NOT checkout.
UV light never touched Canadian ground and it never will.
Is it sideways?
No but it's kinda tilted up, like you're seeing it from a lower angle.
Especially in the winter.
I got a UV ink tattoo many years ago. Faded to nothing in less than 10 years. I like my tattoos to be visible and last.
That was my first thought like no way it lasts the test of time.
Even if it did no one will ever see it lol seems like a fun gimmick but sort of pointless really
but have you heard of the sun
I'm in Ireland so no lol
Ain't that the fucking truth lmao
Seems fake
I could see the appeal of having a tattoo in a visible location but still have the choice of when and who you show it to.

Sounds like a good loophole to get out of those cringy "lost a bet" tattoos.
i got one too, and now i have stumps for arms and no eyebrows.
Mine disappeared also.
Think they can somehow make this work with contact to maple syrup?
The sun?
Do they have that in Canada tho 🤔
No I think they voted out of the solar system a few years back.
Just looked outside and there's no sun
That’s got extra-cancer written all over it.
T-rextra cancer
Not “extra cancer”. lol
Why the inside of the upper arm? That part gets a lot less sun, so you'd just have to carry around a UV light.
Wait, is that the point? The fact it disappears is the reason to get it? So it is less about the actual tattoo, it's just a very expensive toy
i would want to get a “phineas and ferb” perry the platipus with the hat being the invisible/activated part
Thats amazing lol

Yea pretty much lol
This other comment on this post says they had a similar tattoo and it got sunburnt easily. That probably explains the placement
These have always been strange to me like do you just carry around a UV light.
I do, but I collect uranium glass.
I do, but I collect Yooperlites.
me too, but i’m thinking about selling like 90% of my collection.
Cosmic bowling every weekend, bitches.
I mean, my OLight flashlight has a UV light setting, so.. yes?
You carry a flashlight everywhere you go? That's kinda sick honestly lol I just use my phone torch when I need one

What’s the point? The reveal isn’t even nice.
I'm sorry but this seems so gimmicky and weird.
People missing the fact that this isn't a normal UV tattoo that glows under UV light, this is something else entirely.
Enlighten us, then. What is it?
Something else entirely

Can you still get an MRI though?
There's this touring artist that does them:
@rising.angels.ink
Idk anything about her she pops up on my Instagram a lot.
@rising.angels.ink specializes in this, they're based in Vancouver if you're on the west coast
Don't have anything of this sort so can't comment on longevity
Idk why but I thought it was gonna be a tattoo of dickbutt

Elwood?
Ig this was safe it would be mega cool tho
Just get tattoos you can see
This is the dumbest thing I’ve seen.
Even if you’re at a club with black lights it won’t show up because it’s under his arm.
Other than pulling his little pocket light out and showing someone “look how cool this is” there’s zero reason to pay money for something like this

That guy with glasses looks like alternative version of Benedict cumberbatch

My brother in Christ it's not too late to delete this
You're gross. You know you don't have to type out all of your thoughts, right?
This is incredibly sad and inappropriate.
Oh come on.
can't imagine why.

You don't gotta be like this.
