has anyone ever seen a transcription for the lyrics of Questions for Lovers? I was searching around today and couldn't find any.

I took a crack at transcribing it myself based on the clearest recording I could find: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gikMsJFn1J8&t=1562s

any edits? It sounds like he says "your heart will broke again" but that seems really off to me

I’ve got some questions for lovers

I’ve got some questions for the lucky ones

I see couples holding hands

and I just wonder wonder how it started

And I know it’s none of my business

so I hope you’ll please excuse me

it’s nothing very personal

just something that occurred to me

How do you get — get together?

How do you make — make a start?

How do you find — find the right one for you?

Do you feel it in your heart?

Does it make you work — work much harder?

Is everyone the same?

And do you ever stop — stop to think about

how lucky you really are?

Would you consider — calling it quits?

Your heart will broke again? [unclear on tape]

How could you tell you’re really in love, how can you tell you care?

When will you draw — draw the line and say that this has gone too far?

And do you ever stop — stop to think about

how lucky you really are?

  • Spot on except I think what he's trying to say for the unclear part is "If your heart will break again" but flubs it

It sounds like "broke" in every single version I can find, but that really doesn't seem right

No that's what I meant lol, not sure why he sings it like that but maybe there's some artistic choice there. No idea

  • A bit unrelated, but hearing this song after listening to What is the Reason for It off of David’s new solo album was nice - always asking similar questions, never really losing that curiosity in his songwriting!
