I was on that train! Worse that I booked an uber and there was a road closed nearby so couldn’t get to Ryedale (or whatever it’s called) Street/Road. Wish I would’ve known that before I waited 15-20mins only for it to cancel (I get enough cancellations with my assistance dog)😩

just drove past. fkn idiot lorry driver. legit was carrying a 5m concrete barrier and smashed the bridge as he went through. lots of debris but can't tell if the bridge is compromised although it didn't look too bad
i believe the confusion for reopening the bridge after checking the above bridge rail infrastructure was ok is because of all the concrete debris, checking whether it was from the damaged load or the bridge falling apart.
Just drove past. Probably 20 to 30 police officers attending.
Truck had a high load that appears to have struck or scraped the bottom of the rail bridge.
Huge traffic on Vic Rd eastbound.
Still there as of just past 4pm. They didn’t think to lay those panels longways?

Bridge has been certified ok , so hopefully soon back to some resemblance of normal through the area.
How hard did he hit that bridge? Surely couldn't have been overheight there

Doesn’t have to be hit very hard. A simple knock and they’d need the engineers to come and pass the bridge for a safety inspection.
Must have been hard, and hit the sidewall.. Have a report of debris falling from the bridge.
