Anyone else in Parramatta/Old Toonie smelling a bush fire?

Smells like burning greenery, I think it might be coming from Toongabbie Creek?

i think most of Sydney can smell smoke. the southerly has carried up quite a bit of it from the fires down sourh.

I was pleasantly surprised by how soon I felt better after turning the air purifier on. Pity I forgot to turn it on before I went to sleep last night!!

It’s honestly one of the best purchases I’ve ever made! One night about 3 years ago during a lot of backburning I stupidly forgot to close the windows and woke up nearly suffocating from all the smoke in the house. Turned the purifier on and sat right over it just breathing in clean air. Literal lifesaver.

Hawkesbury RFS has put out this advice:

The Southerly change last night brought relief after days of hot temperatures however this morning we wake up to smoke within the Sydney basin.

This smoke is from Victoria and some larger fires down in the south of NSW.

Those with respiratory problems should activate their action plan as required

Only call Triple Zero (000) if you see actual fire not for smoke haze.
