I think no business is good business this window.
Not sure how reliable Darren Witcoop is, but he just tweeted out that Swansea are the leaders in the clubhouse for Palace winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi on loan after he got recalled from his loan at Caykur Rizespor in Turkey and Coventry are loaning in two wingers, Romain Esse and Yang Min-Hyeok.
The club were also linked to MLS’ Charlotte FC winger Liel Abada a few days ago. Think this means Benson’s loan is going to be cut short and will be heading back to Burnley.
Is it worth adding Ollie Cooper's loan recall? And Joel Cotterill's (just announced)?
Like a new signing
Huw Jenkins is that you
The club is being linked by two Portuguese sources, Cabine Desportiva and A Bola, to Santa Clara winger Gabriel Silva, but says a move will be difficult to be within the EFL FFP. So it does look like they are looking at a winger this window, but there will have to be outgoing first or a loan the more likely option.
Apparently the link between the club and Silva is one of Matos’ assistants was an assistant at Santa Clara the previous two seasons while Silva was there. Don’t think it’s going to happen though because of cost and FFP.
Ricardo Santos being linked with a moved back to League 1 to Reading by Darren Witcoop
Rak-Sakyi would, on the face of it, be an excellent loan signing. Excellent goal and assists return over multiple seasons. Also very good defensive stats, so will be able to contribute to a high press.
He is a left footer mind, so an inverted winger on the right. Or potentially an orthodox left winger, which would be a good option to have.
If this happens I will be well pleased.
Heard he may be off to stoke
You couldn't blame him, although his chances of being first choice, ahead of Manhoef, is smaller than his chances at Swansea. I think the smart move, from a career progression point of view, would be to choose us.
Maybe, lots of factors in play, vamos a ver
Joel Cotterill has joined Congreve at Dundee on loan for the rest of the season. Good move.
Saw this, they are a decent website and the writing is good.

I just can't believe the Joel Ward rumors. He's 36 and I read that he played a total of 83 minutes across 2 matches in the past 12 months and last played a full match 18 months ago. There's no way he'd be match fit. Someone also pointed out on the Jack Army forum that Ward doesn't fit Matos' system, which would ask him to press a lot. Seems like a tall task for a 36 year old that's barely played in a year. With the new ownership and leadership, figured the club would be done with signings like this.
Based on the very limited time he's had Wales has done OK, but not enough to suggest he's ready to deputise for Vipotnik. He scored 5 with 2 assists last season for Kilmarnock in 34 appearances, averaging 6.5 on Fotmob. So a promising record but nothing special. Lissah is averaging 7.24 on Fotmob, with the best defensive stats of a full back in the Scottish Premiership. He's averaging 7.9 in the last 5 games. He can also play across the back line, including at left back, providing backup to Tymon while Samuels-Smith is out.
It doesn't look likely Lissah will be recalled, which is a shame, but I'm chilled about it. Just as I am with Wales staying or going out on loan. However, if him leaving on loan helps facilitate a purchase of a player such as Will Evans or bringing in a top PL player on loan, then I would support that.
I'm happy for lissah to continue developing for the rest of the season as he's doing so well it would be a shame to disrupt it now we have ward. Listening to matos pre match interview I don't think the Samuels smith injury is too bad just very unfortunate timing so we shouldn't need to worry.
Bobby is too raw for the championship currently he needs consistent mins which I feel he'd get in league 1 and have a great time. Not sure the club are going to want to spend on another striker with the way finances are currently, a loan or short term deal for a older free agent like we've done with ward may be the only solution.
The conservative, safe option is to leave Lissah with Falkirk. With Congreve (joint top assists in league with 6) and Wilson it's definitely right to leave them in Scotland for the rest of the season. However Lissah's Fotmob rating in 4th best in the league for a full back, and his defensive stats are better than all three who's overall stats are better (Kieran Tierney and Tavernier are two of the three who are well known). This is spite of the fact that his stats will automatically be depressed due to playing for a smaller team that concede more (there's collective punishment for the defence when goals are conceded). It's not a stretch to say he's one of the top performing defenders in the league.
If Samuels-Smith is recalled the case for recalling Lissah becomes very strong, given he's equally confident on either side of the defence.
Swansea Independent claiming Chelsea considering recalling Samuels-Smith and loaning him out to another Championship club.
Tom Coleman from Wales Online tweeted this morning that West Ham are considering recalling Casey, as they are unhappy with his lack of playtime.
Also, no update on Rak-Sakyi from Coleman either. Seems like there are other clubs in for him as well and we’d have to wait on Benson going back to Burnley, which there’s been no rumors of that recently.
I believe it was Coleman as well saying that Portsmouth don’t have a send back option and only the club have the option to recall Bianchini, so it’s most likely he stays there the rest of the season.
With the rumors of Samuels-Smith and Casey getting recalled and Santos to Reading, that would leave us thin at the back. Wonder if they are looking at another defender this window if any or all of those happen.
Lissah magnificent again tonight, despite being on the losing side with Celtic winning one nil. 7.7 rating, 7 tackles (2 is average per 90 for a full back), 11 out of 14 ground duels won. Both the commentator and match summariser singled him out for praise several times, for his excellence in defence and composure in possession. Match summariser had him down as POTM.
A couple of excellent crosses too, having watched the highlights.
What more does he have to do to earn a recall and a starting position at right back? If we don't recall him it wouldn't be a surprise if someone else comes in with a bid, or seek to have him on loan for the rest of the season.
Match will appear later on BBC Scotland.
Wilson did well too, causing problems to Tierney with his pace. Missed one big chance though.
I'm guessing there will be a one in one out policy in this window, with Santos and Benson going out to make way for Ward and Rak-Sakyi. If Key leaves for Blackburn we will need a replacement in the building first. I don't see this happening until the end of the window, if at all.
Samuels-Smith being out for 3 weeks is a concern. I guess we will make do while he's out. Does Eom provide cover? If not him, who else?
With Idah out for most of the season we could really do with a proper 9 cover. Not sure Wales is ready, and given his very limited game time, even today, I don't think Matos thinks he's ready either. Perhaps he needs a loan. In which case we would definitely need another 9. Will Evans is in the last 6 months of his contract, so would be a cut price option. He's fantastic out of possession so would fit Matos' approach, and allow us to implement a high press for the first time with a proper 9. He might not make the step up to Championship football, but like Ward it would be a cheap option with very little downside, and potentially a big upside.
So you're telling me that you think that a player who did moderately well in the Scottish premiership isn't ready for the championship? Can you see the irony Keyboard Gaffer?
Scottish prem is a weird one you have a few teams on par with the championship but a bunch would struggle in league , I'd prefer our players go to league 1 although Falkirk seems to be doing wonders with lissah and Wilson seems to be doing alright too
I'd agree Bobby needs a loan as well lad needs minutes to develop and he's not going to get them consistently here unless zan or Cullen pick up long term injuries. I think there's a decent player there in Bobby but he's way too raw for the championship this season.
