Am watching through Nicaragua at the moment and I am just flabbergasted by some of the decision making here. Why does Chase tell Sash and Fabio he is going to take them on rewards and go back in his word to both of them? Just don’t say that to them if you aren’t going to do that?! Especially since Sash is the swing vote and he apparently realizes how stupid he is for not picking him. Also, why did Chase Sash and Holly tell Jane to her face they were voting for her? The only way they get voted out is if Fabio and Dan join with Jane to force a tie, which could have reasonably happened there. Why not just tell her you’re voting for Dan?? I don’t get it. I know Chase ends up losing, I can definitely see why.
On the Jane vote, Nicaragua's idols expired at final 6. Chase and Sash had the only idols, so they play them and become immune. So even if they tied the vote, Dan would be the only person eligible for the rock draw. This is because Fabio, Chase and Sash would be immune and the votes against them would give Holly and Jane immunity for the rock draw. So there was no incentive for Dan to force the tie, especially considering everyone knew about Sash's idol and probably knew about Chase's.
As for the reward bit, Chase was an idiot who couldn't stick to his word. That's evident throughout the season.
Thanks for the explanation. However, why would they not just tell Jane to vote for Dan to avoid the whole scene and having Jane cause chaos all day.
Unnecessary lie. Can leave a dirty taste in a persons mouth as they leave if you lied when you didn’t have to. It’s like a jury management thing.
They were safe due to idols expiring at final 6 and chase and sash both had idols
Chase and Sash were immune due to having idols, so they couldn’t have gone home there. And if a tie is forced between Holly and Jane, then they become immune and Dan is the only one vulnerable.
Another thing is that Chase and Sash had separately promised Fabio and Dan that the alliance with Holly was just to make Holly feel comfortable, and they would take them to the Final 3. Fabio and Dan still thought there was a chance of that happening, which is why they threw out Holly’s name at F5.
Holly also said post-game that she wanted to blindside Jane there, and Sash was down for that, but Chase would have blown it up like with the Brenda vote.
In regards to the Chase’s rewards picks, that was just him being an idiot. I have no idea what the logic was there.
The main reason Sash ended up going with Chase/Holly/Jane was just because he knew Chase and Holly weren’t planning on taking Jane to the end. It was basically an open secret that Chase and Holly were going to turn on Jane at some point. Everyone except Jane herself was aware of it. That’s why Benry tried to threw Fabio under the bus at F7. He assumed he could convince Chase, Holly and Sash to do Jane at the Final 6.
Even before NaOnka and Purple Kelly quit, Sash was planning on going to the end with them, and Holly was planning a F3 with Chase and NaOnka. The two girls quitting meant Sash lost his F3 combination, and Chase/Holly lost their 3rd person. So that’s why the Chase/Holly/Sash deal worked as both sides were looking for a new F3.
