I know this is random but I was just rewatching S37 and this scene got me lauging.
Gabby plays her hand on the sand and asked Christian "Do you wanna play with me?" (It really sounded seductive by the way) and Christian's response was just funny.
One of my favorite moments ever was when he corrected someone with 'factorials' and the other 2 brochachos chimed in that it was on the tip of their tongues.
Christian was such iconic nerd representation. His like 6 hour ramblings during the endurance challenge because "this helps me focus" 😂😂 same, man. Same.
definitely, there is a level of dislike i see thrown around on this sub an in many other online survivor communities. They try to act like she was in love with Christian on her season and that she’s cringey or embarrassing. She was a good, refreshing player. I loved her. A lot of people didn’t.
god I really need to rewatch his season because I LOVE Christian. I am beyond excited to see him back. I learned how to do slide puzzles out of sheer amazement for his comment that, upon solving a slide puzzle in seven seconds, "I could've done it faster."
I’m watching 37 for the first time ever and Christian has already vaulted into my top 5 favorites. Everything about him is delightful! I’m rooting for him so hard on 50 but worry that being from a 3 returnee season combined with his GOATed social game is going to make him an early target.
I wasn't hanging out here when that season aired...but hasn't Gabby claimed that her crestfallen reaction to the arrival of Christian's girlfriend was spliced in from another context?
I heard that Christian talked about his girlfriend a lot during the season and it just never made the edit, so the other people knew he had a girlfriend.
Nah. I think Gabby was just being emo and vulnerable in that moment thinking about game play, like when she cried about not fitting in when she swapped tribes.
I remember being so baffled by that because everyone on the new tribe was perfectly nice to her and meanwhile Christian was happily doing his charmpocalypse and running for comptroller of Slamtown.
It was so interesting to me, as someone who has been a huge nerd my entire life. Christian was very secure in who he was, Gabby (was at least edited to seem like she) wasn't. It's a lot easier to fit in if you think of yourself as charming and likeable. You can do a lot with pure confidence, even if you don't look the part or have the "right" interests. On the other hand, it's easy to feel ostracized if you're convinced nobody will like you.
For the record, I've been on both sides of the coin. While I've gotten to a point in my life where I'm mostly secure, Survivor would 100% wreck me. It would bring up like, ancient playground trauma, and I would feel like a little kid with no friends again. I don't blame Gabby for feeling insecure.
She was also a lot younger than Christian. Gabby was 25, and he’s 7 years older. A lot of people become more confident in theirs 30s. (I can relate to that!).
Ooh, great point, I didn't realize he was older than her. I'm not in my 30s yet, but I can relate somewhat. 7 years ago, I was 17, and I didn't need a high-pressure situation like Survivor to wreck me. Life—not crazy circumstances, I was literally just having good parents, going to high school, having some fellow nerd friends, and doing homework—life was wrecking me at that point.
Being a teenager is incredibly hard! That’s the beauty of life… everything gets more challenging as you grow older, but you learn who you are, and also your strengths. Well, some people never become wiser, but yeah, overall, becoming older is great :). I love my life way more now as a 38yo than when I was in my 20s.
I don’t care what anyone says, Gaby was either working him or was actually into him. I think it’s the latter but she was definitely using some flirty behavior to get him on her side in some fashion. And he was definitely into her, although he did seem to keep it respectful.
In his defense, when she started running her finger in the sand and saying "Christian, do you want to play with me?", I immediately thought "Does she mean in the game or in the sand?"
I’m in love with this nerd
He’s awesome. Mega-nerd is one of my least favorite casting archetypes and he still won me over in the first episode of DvG.
Mainly because he actually has social skills. Like yeah he’s a nerd with a PhD but he’s also just social and makes good connections with others.
He's incredibly charismatic and funny, even if a little awkward.
He won me over so fast when he started going on about the demographics of SlamTown, and the Slamtonians
And asking if he could still be a comptroller 30 seconds after voting him out? 😭 love Christian bad
Definitely agreed. It also helped that his nerddom had nothing to do with Survivor or being a huge Survivor fan.
And he didn’t care that he was most likely smarter than everyone there. Made him very likable.
One of my favorite moments ever was when he corrected someone with 'factorials' and the other 2 brochachos chimed in that it was on the tip of their tongues.
The Comptroller of Slamtown
Hes also clearly a kind person who has experienced bullying, so its easy to root for his empathy
Because knowledgeable, passionate nerds are completely different than obsessed, entitled nerds. They just use the same word for no good reason.
Me tooo!! He's my #1 on 50 🙂
Gabby?
I remember being obsessed with him and not telling a soul
Super funny moment. Excited for more Christian this year.
He’s just an adorable human
Ah my friend this scene needs no introduction
Christian is so iconic that after hearing he was going to be part of season 50, I didn't care who else was going to be on. Casting already got an A+.
Oh I didn’t know that! I’m so excited for him to be back.
He was great
This is like one of the most precious Survivor scenes.🥰
I don't think it was seductive, just like she was on the verge of tears
The girl who hard core crushed on him until she found out he wasn't single? She definitely was flirting lol
You really believe Christian was her closest connection on the island all season and she didn’t find out he had a gf until day 30?
She had a boyfriend the whole time. It just didn't make the edit because the edit was pushing the scenario she was into him.
Christian was such iconic nerd representation. His like 6 hour ramblings during the endurance challenge because "this helps me focus" 😂😂 same, man. Same.
I loved that scene so, so much. The look on Jeff's face after a surprise 6 hour robotics lecture lol
The look on Alec's face, too lol!
Christian is my favorite for the upcoming season <3
The dislike some of y’all have for Gabby is so weird. God forbid a woman tries to play the game.
People dislike gabby?

i love her dramatic tear flick aways!
Exactly. Like leave her alone.
This dude is unequivocally the best casting selection in Survivor history in the last 35 seasons aside from maybe Russell
i need him
They had such a fun dynamic. This scene was hilarious. They made that season for me !
god I really need to rewatch his season because I LOVE Christian. I am beyond excited to see him back. I learned how to do slide puzzles out of sheer amazement for his comment that, upon solving a slide puzzle in seven seconds, "I could've done it faster."

She was defintely enticing him. They call this move the wiles. And men fall for it, or are defused by it on a regular.

I don't know about all that. Just going by experience and perception. I'm not even sure of her true feelings. I just know what I know.
Struck a nerve, did l? These downvotes don't deter me, they validate me.

I shipped them so hard. It wasn't Gabby who was heartbroken during the loved ones visit, it was us the audience.
Of course they are “into” each other. They are both nerds. Lol
It’s just band camp but on an island.
War flashbacks from this comment
She was pining for him hard until the loved ones visit where she meets his wife hahaha
Many of the females on this season were doing it.
I fully understand how they both felt in this moment and I love them both equally for giving us this timeless classic lmao
In his defense, when she started running her finger in the sand and saying "Christian, do you want to play with me?", I immediately thought "Does she mean in the game or in the sand?"
Love love Christian. Can't wait for him (and Angelina and Mike!) to be back in my screen.
i think he was confused and concerned lol
I can remember shipping them so hard
The original Sheldon before Sheldon was a thing 💛
I'm sorry do you think Christian in survivor came before big bang theory?
In episode one they even called him "big bang theory"
