Got tickets in Mats suite before through work and it was dope. Really good food, high quality open bar, 4 pretty young models, and he came up at half time to chat with whoever and say hi. Brought my parents and had a blast.
Na they were just paid (look pretty) talent. If you didn’t know better you’d think they were a group of really hot friends who got tickets but it became clear over the course of the night that they were there to look hot and on Matt’s payroll. Was innocent and appropriate and it did its job.
I know he (rightly) took some heat over the last year or two, but Ishbia gives a shit and really cares about the team and Phoenix community, and that’s never been in doubt. I don’t normally care about whether good things happen to billionaires, but in happy for Ishbia this season, along with the players and fans. This guy has put a ton of his money on the line and really wants to win. This isn’t about making money, it’s about loving hoops and binding a winning organization. Took him a bit, but he’s realized how to do it and that culture is more important than star power.
Glad to have him as our owner. One of the best in sports, in my biased opinion.
It's always ultimately about money. Two things can be true at once though. I think mat knows that it's not just the team on the court that is the product. It's the whole organization and what it does for the valley.
This team, with a winning culture and continued on and off the court success brings the value up in the organization and product.
