It's nice to see that Booker is drawing a superstar whistle this season. But in the context of drawing the 3rd fewest free throw attempts as a team, it's a mixed bag.
How do y'all interpret these lists?

He really doesn't get to the line much. Had a free throw rate of .234 with us last year despite being our leading scorer. He drives and cuts very aggressively but rarely get calls. Of all the high scoring, aggressive guards he probably has the worst whistle.
For reference Luka is at .541 and Avdija is .585. They get to the line two and a half times more than Jalen. He'll get you buckets but he won't get to the line.

I believe he meant when he drives to the rim. He acknowledges then that’s he’s “good at every other type of shot” which would include the middies you’re referencing.
I’m inclined to agree with him. Brooks has been a great scorer this year but it’s almost entirely cause of his shooting (both from 3 and mid). His body control and touch around the rim just isn’t very good, not to mention he’s not the type to blow by someone and get an open lane.

Team FTs are low cause we take less attempts at the rim than like any other team in the league.
Booker gets mauled and whacked and held on every drive, and since he’s our main source of on-ball rim pressure, he’s getting the majority of our FTs.
Both numbers make sense to me. Our style of basketball isn’t conductive to high team FTA numbers, and Booker legitimately gets fouled all the fucking time lol.
Like others have said, we are a 3pt shooting team. We will struggle to draw FTs without driving the ball.
Context, Avdija, SGA and Giannis drive the ball more than any other players in the NBA and that is reflected in their FTA numbers.
Booker gets calls, and his FTA number should put that myth to rest. But hes the only one on our team that can drive the ball or create iso offence so he is going to get all our FTs. It will hypthetically increase with the return of Green
Book doesn’t get the superstar treatment. He’s fouled far more often than the whistle blows. So it’s crazy to seen his free throws are this high. Defense against him is just take two players and beat him up.

Watch him play. He deserves it. Dude doesn't really foul bait. He gets fouled and makes a ton of and 1's. He's a freight train
