I finished the game today and I have never played nor heard about Subnautica all these years and I downloaded it 2 months ago and was so obsessed with it. I have zero knowledge about the game, what to do, or what the mechanics are. Oh my god just, this game is so amazing. I love it so much, I'm thinking of playing Below Zero next.
If you think this game is the most beautiful you’ve ever played, you haven’t played Outer Wilds. That and Subnautica are my top two games of all time and I’m begging you to play Outer Wilds if you haven’t already.
I haven't played that and it looks awesome. I will definitely try it!! I really like open world games, I get so engrossed with them.
As someone who's loved Subnautica for years Outer Wilds quickly became a tie for my favorite game when I played it this year. Look up NOTHING. Don't go to the subreddit, don't look at the trailer, just buy it and play it. Play as long as you can without reading anything about it. Your knowledge is what the game saves on.

It quickly became one of my favorite games. First playthrough was an absolutely unique experience for me. Both beautiful, thrilling and scary as shit.
It is the only game that consistently scares me. Even after multiple playthrougs, I still find myself procrastinating for hours, to avoid going to the scary places. It's not even the enemies, it's the atmosphere and the fucking deep void always lurking below.

Im not so sure if everyone has a similar experience but I wasn't really scared and avoided scary places as I don't have knowledge of what scary places are. I don't even know the different biomes in the game. My only indicator was if the space was big enough there's definitely something big in there too so I would always swim on the sea floor. Also it was just easy to save before going to scary places and just not save the gameplay if something bad happens. There was really a lot of trial and error in my gameplay hehe.
Only thing that holds me back from this game is the grind man😓. And I’m the kind of person that wants to do it all legit but I’m absolutely horrible at sticking through 2+ hours of grinding😭. Any suggestions to make the end game a little more manageable, I’ve gotten to the lost forest w cyclops and prawn w grapple and drill arms. I guess what should I focus of farming for a while to make my life easier
What part are you in the game? I wouldn't really focus on farming materials, I mean personally I wasn't really grinding hard on materials and was focusing on upgrades, then just going back and forth to what I need. My end game was basically going back and forth near Lifepod 2, Captain Yu's ship (entrance to the lost cave). and the Jellyshroom cave since it's full of minerals and it's where I built my base. I would suggest building a base or another simple base near the Northern East dry island (where the alien facility is) so it would be easy for you to travel back and forth. + just always get extra rubies, sulfur, nickel, and ion cubes (too much is never enough, I promise they will always come in clutch)
Also friendly reminder to craft Jump Jet upgrade for prawn because I made extra hours rescuing my prawn from the empress' lair because I couldn't get out.
I'm honestly not a pro in this game but I really would love to help out base on my lovely experience with the game.
