Does anyone know if the tactrix 2.0 will work on a 2002 wrx? I’m seeing some conflicting info, some saying only 1.3 will work for a 2002, other sites saying the 2.0 will be fine. I have the 2.0.
Trying to use this in an attempt to disable code P0500. Long story short, my VSS is gone, the area to replace it was sealed off (bought this replacement transmission on Facebook) not wanting to go thru the hassle of dropping and opening the transmission to replace that. Due to this code, the car will not let me go over 5K RPM and is cutting power. I’ve been told to give a shot at disabling the P0500 code completely and hope the car will let me go over 5K. When I clear the code, It lets me go over 5K for a few minutes and drives like normal until the code pops back up. My husband already owns the tactrix, so this is the cheapest (free) option.
My other option if this doesn’t work was hooking up a square wave pulse generator to the ECU using the old VSS wire that’s connected to the ECU and then turning up the frequency until it lets me past 5K, to trick it into thinking the vehicle is moving. That option involves some wiring to the ECU, which I don’t mind but I like the first option better 🤣

2.0 tactrix will work for a 2002… if you want to learn to tune I would suggest going to a car berry map!
Thank you! :)
Iwire sells a pnp option for converting abs signal to 5v speed signal. Yes the 2.0 port will work. I wouldn’t recommend deleting the code.
I saw that, the price made me continue to look elsewhere, which is how I figured out that I could use a $5 square wave generator to do basically that same thing with some DIY wiring.
Tactrix 2.0 will work. Or it did years ago on my buddies. He was always borrowing my cable.
