What are you on about? Trump never said Epstein's crimes were a hoax. Did you even read the article?
The hoax is what the hypocritical democrat party is trying to twist it into. They kept all this quiet, tried to sweep it under the rug for four years. Only now are they desperately trying to twist things and say Trump was somehow, magically implicated.
Trump was instrumental in taking down Epstein's whole nasty business.
The dems never cared about Epstein or his victims. Their huge, fake outrage lately, is totally a hoax. Hypocrite
Epstein was being used by the CIA & Mossad.
All that blackmail info from the island went directly to Israel, who it was gathered for in the first place.
They forced a sweetheart deal for Epstein in the first trial.
Then along came Trump, and burned Epstein & Maxwell's whole dirty operation to the ground. Wound up being their worst nightmare. Trump was a key witness in the prosecution that put those two behind bars.

Alt-Right Update:
Spencer and Fuentes, both widely regarded as both being feds who appeared out of nowhere and then the media just decided they were the leaders of ... something, are talking about how the problem is that Israel isn't actually a vassal of the United States and that if it acted that way then it would be B A S E D
https://x.com/FuentesUpdates/status/1999326540853817775
The average person involved in these things just wants to deport all non-whites, they aren't interested in these 1000 IQ justifications world imperial hegemonies these people keep promoting.
Because guess what? The original America First committee was an isolationist movement. "The left" broadly was against entry into WW1, but for some reason this new fangled thing called "fascism" was causing people to become warmongers thinking that for some reason the arguments made against WW1 suddenly didn't apply. This left the anti-war movement ... isolated, and they were essentially just isolationists who were left. Again the fascists benefit when leftists are retarded and drop things which the fascists gladly pick up.
Say what you will about isolationism being bad, but objectively for the entire rest of the world because of how destructive the USA is globally, an isolationist USA, even if it is hell for the people that live in it, would be better for the planet simply because the world would finally be free from its imperialist torment. "Harm reduction" in the context of "fighting isolationist fascism" in the USA is putting minorities in the imperial core as being more important than the global majority of people that live outside the imperial core. "Isolationist Fascism" like that of Charles Lindbergh in the USA and Oswald Mosley in Britain is a tendency which is an improvement over interventionist liberalism.
Fuentes' America First is "American Empire First" and he is insistent that America is an Empire of some kind of that is good. This is actually the worst of both worlds, because he supports "the empire" while also wanting to be racist domestically. There is a reason that the Prestige Press keeps writing "glowing" reviews of the Mexican fa**oty Ann. They no longer care if someone is "racist" or not, they only care if someone supports imperialism. Fuentes even says the "Demographics are baked in" so he apparently doesn't even want to deport people anymore? I guess he just wants the empire to be more racist even if the demographics of that empire are
This can be reconciled when you understand that Fuentes is a Mexican White Supremacist. His father was a Castizo and his Mother an Anglo. Castizo + Criollo = Criollo, so by Mexican White Supremacy rules, Fuentes got upgraded to a Criollo, which in his view should make him the leader of the mixed races masses, but by American White Supremacy rules non-white + white = non-white, so he doesn't get upgraded. Fuentes is really only "white" if there are non-whites to rule over, so his whiteness is contingent on being imperialist. By contrast the whiteness of others is contigent on not mixing with non-whites, so American White Supremacy has an isolationist tendency. It is still "imperialist" in the settler colonial sense, but it won't engage in global imperialism as instead it focuses on low population density places like the American Frontier.
Additionally, this isn't based on anything, but I just don't like Fuentes, he gives me the same feeling that everyone who is a Zio-shill does. He just "feels" like a Zionist, you know. Maybe it is just a gaydar, who knows?
The Alt-Right wanted to break up the United States and create a white ethnostate, say what you will but beyond the landback people, no group of IDPOLers has ever gotten to the point of just outright saying the USA entity should cease to exist. Spencer has actually regressed in that he hasn't really advocated for breaking up the United States to make a white ethnostate in awhile, instead he basically transformed into a Ukraine Lib who thinks the USA entity needs to exist in order to support Ukraine against Russia, even being a White Dude For Harris alongside Dick Cheney to make it happen.
It is clear that these people are only promoted because they are there precisely to make these 1000 IQ plays to keep the imperialist system running by any means necessary, and thus they need to somehow get an isolationist movement like America First to be some kind of "rawr lets conquer the world" statement.
I don’t think anybody would genuinely categorize Fuentes as not white.
The white supremacists online are just twitter trolls who think Agartha is a real place & leftists call him brown to try to dunk on him.
The guy is fair skinned and green eyed, lol. He’s not not-white. Having a small amount of Native American admixture and Spanish ancestry does not make a person not white.
Through my mom’s side I am Spanish/Ute, I can trace her family line back to Spanish settlers in New Mexico back in the mid 1600s. The Spanish did not form the United States, but I think this diaspora counts as “American” the same way that American blacks and English settler American/early waves of Germanic settlers do.
I don’t have any other comment to make as anything Fuentes says is 9/10 a troll or contradicted by something he said earlier. Just wanted to point out that it’s ridiculous that people want to pretend he is not white because he is maybe at most 15% Aztec or whatever the fuck.
Fuentes is a white male. Period.
The imperialist parties are not really divided between themselves. Both support imperialism. The only difference is how they justify it. One party wants to justify imperialism through anti-racism (stopping le next Putler!) and the other one wants to justify imperialism through racism (get rekt Venezuelans, shouldn't have chosen to be brown in America's hemisphere!), but the stuff they end up doing is ultimately the same regardless of party. The "vibe shift" was just transitioning from supporting imperium through wokeness to support it through racism. One may note that regardless of how much the woke/conservatives claim to hate the values expressed by the empire, they never actually go against the empire. They all dutifully wait their turn to be the one justifying the empire through their own values.
They really are two wings of the same party, that by itself is not a big revelation, but stuff opponents of the imperialism itself into one of the two wings just makes it so while the imperialists can be flexible in how they justify their program, the anti-imperialists have to somehow fit themselves into one of the two boxes the imperialists set up to support their program. Instead of politics being divided into racist vs anti-racist, really it is divided into imperialists, who have political power, and anti-imperialists who do not. The unity of the imperialist block should be opposed not by two groups trying to reform their respective "wings" of imperialism, but with a unified anti-imperialist block.
What this means is that one need not care why someone justified an anti-imperialist program, you only need to agree on an overall policy goal. If there are going to be racist and anti-racist imperialists working in the same system, there can be racist and anti-racist anti-imperialists working against that system. The United States actually had such a thing when imperialist was getting started.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Anti-Imperialist_League
You might have a Southerner arguing that they oppose imperialism because they believe that Reconstruction is an Act of Imperialism, while an Imperialist Southerner is arguing for colonizing the Philippines by saying that it is no different than colonizing the frontier. You can also someone arguing against imperialism because it is racist, while an imperialist is arguing for uplifting the status of the Philippines. Back in the day they didn't stuff the anti-racists in one league and the racists in anther league, instead the racists and the anti-racist would be in the same league based on their shared goals.

I seriously cannot take Reddit anymore. If this is representative of society in North America, we are in big trouble. At this point, you cannot make even the most innocent post on any subreddit without being criticized, interrogated, or argued with. Almost all of the negativity comes from people that are confidently incorrect, and even if you are an expert in your field, there will always be someone to argue that you are wrong and still get more upvotes than you. I suspect the inherent anonymity of reddit empowers the most selfish traits in people. I don't know. But this whole experiment is absolutely caustic to society.
I had the opportunity to briefly meet Aaron Swartz before he passed away/the JSTOR leaks, and I'm confident he would be seriously disappointed at how this place has evolved from fun and niche little constructive communities into a massive thunderdome of sociopaths. And if that's just reflective of the society we live in, well fuck, I'm glad that I'm leaving America.
I'll be logging off after this weekend. I appreciate the relief this sub has given me.

new Stanford Medicine study shows why mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccines can cause myocarditis.
https://med.stanford.edu/news/all-news/2025/12/myocarditis-vaccine-covid.html
Wasn't it known all along? I remember hearing about it in like 2021 or 2022. The idea was that the risks of myocarditis were lower than the risks of complications from covid. I also remember some vaccines were not given to younger people for that very reason.
At first it was anyone who said it can cause myocarditis was a loon and you could get banned from social media or a strike on a youtube account for saying so.
Then when some more evidence started presenting itself it was well the risks are covid are higher so its still good to take it.
Then it was well the risks of myocarditis might actually be worse than risks of covid if you are really healthy but everyone else should still take it
Now it's just yeah our bad but that was the science at the time so we were still right
Just constant gaslighting
The problems of the pandemic were those of capitalistic convenience and necessity.
A non-mRNA based vaccine was developed and eventually deployed that had higher efficacy rates and less side effects (Novavax) The problem was that by May 2021, the Biden administration wanted to start rolling out vaccines and lifting halfhearted quarantining restrictions to be 'fully-open' by the start of 2022.
mRNA vaccines were the only option that were already authorized for emergency use by that point after promising phase iii trial results, while the non-mRNA based vaccine still needed a few more months of trials. By that time we also had better information about actual viral transmittance, with the quality of air filtration and circulation in indoor spaces, as well as quality of indoor plumbing in buildings, acting as significant predictors of disease spread.
Federal administrations did not want to procure or make large investment pushes for boring things like improving indoor air quality and filtering in schools and other facilities. It did not want to extend worker-targeted social programs to enable a parent to stay home with children who may not have been able to go to school in person, or provide enough subsidization to workplaces to keep people who exhibited respiratory illness symptoms to stay home. It did not want to overhaul procurement strategies to make sure enough medical equipment whether it was N95 masks to ventilators, to makeshift hospitals were available. Republican leaders politicized the pandemic, framing the issue into freedom versus control instead of using it as a come-together moment to spur collective action in the face of a serious crisis. Democrats were happy to play along with that politicization to 'distinguish their brand.'
This was amplified by the narcissim of American petite-bourgeoisie, who despite receiving the most aid through PPP loans and other subsidies, were the loudest voices for reopening. Had leadership actually took the initiative to handle COVID with the same urgency and speed as is currently happening with ICE, we may have been able to have slowed transmission enough to wait for non-experimental vaccines to be used on the general population instead of mRNA ones. We may not have had to go through several different mutations and variants and have the disease be endemic and continuing require boosters. We may have had less chronic illness issues in schools today from investments that would have not only helped with fighting COVID, but also fighting flus and other respiratory issues because improving things like air and sanitation would extend beyond the pandemic.
There were many opportunities for a better timeline, but we are cursed to live in one of the dumbest ones.
Fuck
Turns out FIFA has raised prices for tickets to the World Cup final fivefold compared to four years ago. Final tickets start at $4,185, with most above $7,000. Group game matches are gonna be in excess of $250. Like how much gouging can people possibly put up with for the benefit of this overclass of dumbfuck freaks, really
How do you guys rate Robert Caro? I've started reading *Richard Nixon: A Life* by John A. Farrell and its giving me a real taste for books that explore power politics and US presidents. Caro's reputation is seemingly second to none. I'm a little wary because those books look fucking huge and people think he's not going to be able to finish the series on LBJ. Is he as good as people say?
I certainly liked The Power Broker, it's pretty exceptional that an 1100-page book on a guy who did transportation planning would read in a real page-turning manner. I think he's very, very good at capturing the era and its currents that swept peope and ideas along, and that is what makes it both readable and informative. I imagine that the LBJ biography is similar. I would be interested to see whether, as American liberalism became more and more dysfunctional from the 80s to the early 2010s, Caro's perspective reflects that. Obviously the level of pathology that's now on display was not there in 2012, and Caro was a garden-variety liberal in 2008, essentially the last moment in this country's history that liberal optimism made any sense. I hope he writes another volume, just to see what he is going to do, though he has to be in his late 80s at least by now, so it seems unlikely.
Some french videogame won some kind of award yesterday and there are so much tears on my twitter because the dev are white french that I'm at risk of hyponatremia
You're mad at E33 because it was made by Frogs.
I'm mad because KCD2 got robbed of its award in the RPG category. TGA has always been fucking rigged.
We are not the same.
Bottom text.
...
That said, I'm happy Wuthering Waves won Player's Voice even though it's not much. At least E33 didn't sweep another category, I got my free Astrites and I got to farm salt from 'mainstream gamers' who crashed out over 'gacha slop' winning something over their precious 'real games'. It's gacha, but it certainly isn't slop.
It was obvious half-way through they were gonna win lol, last trailer was comical though.

Blue collar youtube does wonders for algorithm hygiene and mental health. One week of clicking on every POV video of someone driving a semi truck, loading trailers full of gravel or working on the flightline of a major airport has completely purged all traces of gaming and politics. Makes me want to clip a gopro onto my hat and do one of those videos.
Watching primitive LARPing videos (like Primitive Technology and Chad Zuber) also desinfected mine.
Even managed to convince me to try clay pottery for a while (I'm fucking terrible at it, jfc).
I know this sub would probably laugh at this, but the bigger medieval LARP events are amazing at cleansing your brain. A week of living in a medieval fantasy without cell phones or internet will make you completely forget the world outside is burning to the ground.
The full video was already posted but goddamn do the most annoying leftist on this site really need to listen to this 5min section https://youtu.be/FE4ExWWKz6s?si=fRFbt4vfNzg34IHL&t=4732
Iceland pulled out of eurovision 2026 yesterday, Poland reportedly got close but stayed, likely to not risk offending Americans.
From today anyone pulling out will face huge fines, so it's likely there won't be more.
With Armenia and Bulgaria joining this means they're down 3 contestants.
There is a possibility Portugal will pull out as all but 4 of their contestant candidates have promised to not go if they win, meaning its possible if none of the 4 make it past the Initial round Portugal might have no one to send, but they could always send the best of those 4 regardless.
I hate that this is the reality but sadly countries deciding to ruin the number one lib capeshit event of the year will do more to pressure things than any protests or boycotts
In one of the Montreal housing groups on FB, a poor young lady posted that she was direly in need of a 1BR apartment for $1,000/month and it was clear from her profile that she was just an innocent college kid. A few shitbags laugh-reacted her post. The comments (from tenants, no less) were largely defending the landlords, saying that if you want to have the "luxury" of living in a civilized Canadian city, you must be prepared to pay up.
I'm really looking forward to leaving this place.
The relentless fount of cynicism emerging from cost of living issues in Canada is one of the things that has turned the country worse over the past two decades.
The snarkiness is a symptom of people accepting what was considered unreasonable even up to a decade ago and displaying the outward appearance of wanting change while quietly scrambling to find a way to benefit from the inequities of the current system. Basically, everyone complains about the rent but still harbors the desire to be a landlord.
[ Removed by Reddit ]
This scratches a hazy memory of a psychology study, or phenomenon, or something. Basically, a person would rather make 40k to his neighbors 35k, rather than make 60k but the neighbor getting 65k. I'm fudging the numbers; but the conclusion was that the human mind places a higher value on being better within your peer group than on personal circumstances. To the tenants, landlords aren't in their peer group, but this college student would be, and her getting significantly lower rent would put her better off.
I imagine you'd see a similar response all over the world, not just Montreal, to the situation you describe.
Canada is a special kind of stupid in this regard, as one of the drivers of this nonsense is literally people just pretending to be better than the US no matter what, as it's a part of their identity. "Be happy you're not in the US" is essentially the excuse that covers virtually every problem in Canada so that it will never be addressed or thought about properly by the working class.
To be honest, I find what you describe to be a concept that is very Western. When you go into societies with a "village mentality" the concept you speak of evaporates very quickly, as the community needs to rely on each other. And it's in these places where landlords are basically considered a parasitic threat. And it doesn't need to be an actual village. I can think of a lot of smaller cities in Europe where there is immense collective consciousness. American culture is just really good at convincing people they need to outcompete their neighbors in order to survive.

Some random thought on the failures of the western world order:
The common motivation to tech-bro characters like Musk and Thiel (who happened to work together for a while) as well as that of their lackeys is a soul crushing alienation with their societies that drove them to fanatically pursue it's radical destruction.
Their ideological veneer may differ slightly in that for example Musk wants to remake it into liking him while Thiel justifies his social pyromany with antichrist fluff but the core objective is the same.
I guess this is nothing new and it sounds a bit corney but hopefully it doesn't make it less true.
To all you yuros/other people of foreignness:

The fact that Gemini3pro can correctly translate 95% of Chinese political coded slang into English is actually quite concerning.
LLMs will undoubtedly be used for censorship; currently, the only limiting factor is cost, but to what extent will that cost decrease?
If the cost becomes low enough, coded slang used to circumvent censorship will be eliminated. Either nobody will understand what you're saying, or someone will understand and explain it when newcomers ask, and this explanation will be captured by LLMs for decryption and translation.
Moreover, even with the continuous invention of new encoding methods, LLMs don't need to read the text; they only need to understand the intentions of the user (or the interacting users). At that time, the only thing that could limit its use would be the high rate of false positives.
Riddle me this, Batman!
I’ve come to realize that 80% of the racist and sexist meme accounts I follow, and only thought were taking the piss, actually are racist and sexist. Not sure what it says about me but it’s a bit eerie.
The alt right seem to have no problem with hiding beneath 50 layers of irony and self deprecation.
I’m tired of winter and having to avoid ice patches everywhere I walk. Contemplating giving up and just start falling every fifth step.

If you ever realize you find yourself in a weird spot where you either try to find some way of compromising/ carrying on/commit social seppuku in the community/niche.
It is especially pervasive for content creators who are not only monetarily but most often than not psychologically dependent on having followers. And indeed with these you will often see that they willl try to overcompensate and go overboard on the opposite direction, which is just as cringe.
Most ice levels have spiky iron boots you can find. In dark forces they were right by the start. Maybe look there.
I'm really trying to get into Alien:Earth... But.... it's just not that good. There's so much good about it, but it doesn't synthesize into something to care about.
That's been the case with everything Alien related past Aliens and honestly imo I still think the first film is just in a league of its own.
Man the first one is still my favorite
The directors cut for Alien 3 stands on its own, in a B+ sort of way, and all of the new era stuff makes it look brilliant in comparison.
The diogue was criminally bad. I actually raged at the last episode's monologue
I'm on episode 3, so still in the "maybe it'll get better?" arc of the show.
Been binging the Blowback pod, just finished Season 3 on North Korea. I wish they talked a bit more about Juche and they could have covered the August faction incident, or the Kapson faction incident.
I think the Kim dynasty definitely deserves criticism, and the they never really touch on it at all.
The sub hit 100,000 subscribers so I am formally requesting a purge.
If I unsubscribe my other 99,999 alts, that should help bring the number down a bit.
For real. We need a good grill to weed out 'tourists' and master-baiters. We're seeing some pretty inane stuff like the recent 'why does Nick Mullen gotta be homophobic' post.
There was a post saying(in a nutshell) "Socialist need to abandon internationalism" and it got 50+ upvotes lol. A very large portion of people here are just here for Idpol raging and couldn't care less about "leftism".
That user was banned.
I remember that, but the fact that enough agreed with it that it was at 50+ points is pretty funny.
Something I'm coming around on is the concept of "landback". BC is having a moment where the lack of treaties means that landownership for property owners is in question. For years people were all about the land acknowledgements but now they are all like "why did nobody tell us that this would happen?"
I maintain that what is likely going to happen is that some kind of taxing entity is going to be established that redirects funds to the first nation with a claim, but it is still funny watching people panicking over it.
I just watched the film Angel's Egg (1985) in 4K restoration, highly rec to any 80's hand-drawn japanese gothic apocalypse as extended allegory of how humans fill the void between faith and reason cels
I been meaning to watch this. Is the 4k restoration legit?
I been watching the Saturday Anime OVAs that played on the sci-fi channel when I was a kid that make it to YouTube. Been downloading those.
I didn't see the original so can't compare, but it's one of the most beautiful things I've seen on a big screen recently. Haven't seen anything like it visually really. Was lucky enough to have it playing near me. I'm not a huge anime guy but I love my Satoshi Kon, Miyazaki, etc and this one is up there with their great works for me
Man I wish we had theaters where I'm at that played strange and beautiful movies like that
Move to europe, if you can swing it
Is it true if you're in a former French colony you can get expedited citizenship
Hmm no idea, a search says there is some process called reintegration if you were born in a former french colony.
An easier leg-in is the less popular destinations like poland or czech republic. Many ppl just teach english for a while on a visa until they get residence, or segue to a different job as they make connections in the expat community. It's more difficult to get residency or citizenship in certain countries but most offer residency after some years. I took a flyer on czech republic 10 years ago teaching english and ended up staying, but am in italy now
Ah damn I don't have a 4 year degree
It doesn't really matter but it helps, you do need some kind of english teaching as a foreign language certificate though, optimally a CELTA. You would ideally do the course in your country of choice, and then start applying for starting jobs in the meanwhile. There are schools that will house you while doing the course and then set you on your way. You could also do it online but thats dicier
Damn the shit you gotta do to watch anime these days

My antipathy towards israel Vs my love of techno and trance
What big Israeli trance artists are there even? At least all the ones I can immediately think of and have seen at shows are predominantly euro, like Giuseppe Ottaviani, Ferry Corsten, Maddix, John O'Callaghan, Above & Beyond, Bryan Kearney, Tiesto lol, Armin van Buuren, and at least a dozen more..
Much harder to even think of more than a few non-euro trance artists personally even as someone in the states. Struggling to think of others off top of my head than some of the smaller guys like Somna and Mr Brooks or some one offs like Shingo Nakamura or Aly & Fila.
Weekend Heroes are one that frequently appear on my playlists but they're more tech house. There's a couple of others too. Some of the techno parties I've gone to internationally are full of Israelis too. But I'm relatively new to the scene
They just get that stuff from Europe anyway right? Israelis come from Europe and NYC anyway.
Anyone using qute browser?
I'm loving it so far, I didn't realize how much less enjoyable my mouse was making shitposting.
Cultural differences: In China, there isn't the same perception as in the West that not wearing makeup is unprofessional for women.
I was only reminded to wear makeup when preparing for interviews for a public institution position, because it shows how much effort you've put into it, like just being deferential respect to the interviewers.
Conversely, if you're interviewing for an engineering position, looking too polished, regardless of gender, will likely raise more questions. A male doctor with smooth skin and no baldness is just as likely to be distrusted as a female doctor with perfectly styled curly hair.
At other times, such as in a typical male-dominated STEM field, neither female students nor teachers usually wear makeup on a daily basis. If a female student/engineer is noticeably wearing makeup, people will usually assume she's going on a date today.
If you tell a woman in this environment, "What's up? Why aren't you wearing makeup? As a woman, you should be doing that," you would receive almost no support.
A female wearing glasses and with an oily face is more likely to be assumed to be proficient in her field than a male with a side parting and a clean face. Because it will be assumed that if you spend time on your appearance, your focus is not entirely on studying.
As nice as it is that people are less focused on appearance in professional contexts in China, the reverse doesn't sound great either. We're more than just machines that turn study into productivity, and we should be spending time on things that aren't work-related.
Sounds healthier than in the US(/West?). I've never understood so much spending on appearance, especially the extreme gender imbalance where women have a huge cosmetics section and 4 different clothing sections all in the same store while men just have a single clothing section and a single hygiene aisle. Male appearance excess spending seems to focus on shoes/sneakers for some reason and cars/trucks.
I think like in the US, everyone needs to look like a salesperson, real estate agent, or insurance broker or something. Because power is more closely related to finance?
I think Americans often feel everything is a sale, and the first thing you are selling is yourself, so your packaging must look "premium." Chinese people are not used to this. My S/O lived in the US for ten years, and from his Chinese perspective, Americans (on average, ofc) are incredibly dumb and yet incredibly confident.
(Moreover, Chinese immigrants often find this tendency in Indian immigrants to be even stronger than in Americans, and therefore feel they are incompatible with each other)
In Chinese culture, boasting about something you're not actually very good at, and then being found out, is considered a serious social blunder. The safe play is humble-bragging. You downplay your appearance and ability so that when you succeed, you exceed expectations.
In China, power is more closely associated with engineer-technocrat or the bureaucrat, plus the work-life balance is terrible. So the mainstream workplace culture is completely different.
"Who can build the best machine" vs "Who can sell the most tickets to see the machine" Sounds like their niches in the global trade chain.

What the hell kind of conclusion are we supposed to draw from this?
In the beginning, that is, October 7th, God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And Hamas used that light to attack Israel.
There's a massive nationwide protest of farmers in Greece right now. They have mobilized an army of tractors to block the land border crossings, basically halting trade and threatening major disruptions to the country's supply chain. In short, Greek newspapers revealed that tens of millions of Euros of farm subsidies have been stolen by the ruling government and given to preferential entities, implied to be used as campaign funds, but officially declared as simply fraudulent recipients. So Greek farmers are rightfully furious, and will absolutely rain hell on the country until this issue is rectified.
Meanwhile, I'm stuck in Québec, where the local government has effectively removed all restrictions on rent increases by allowing landlords to charge tenants for renovations. Myself and all of my friends are being hit with 10-15% annual rent increases. The response from the public has been an underwhelming yawn. Anywhere in Europe, the parliament building would be burned to the ground for such an attack on the working class.

So Brevard county busted some kid manufacturing 7ohm from Kratom (legal in FL) which was actually legal up until a few months ago and they're acting like they're heroes who made the biggest drug bust ever. They actually compared this kid to Breaking Bad on steroids. Fucking retarded ass state.
There's been a seemingly endless number of conferences held by zionist organizations with speakers including the likes of Hilary Clinton, Bari Wiess, Ben Shapiro, etc just blatantly gaslighting the public or just having insane admissions and I'm wondering if they've lost their touch with propaganda or they just don't care.

A good question to which I have no answer. It really is baffling how incapable they seemingly are of reading the room right now. It certainly isn't directed at Zionists since they don't need convincing. At young independents and right-wingers? Do they think they want to hear Israel runs the State Department?
Part 1 / 2
This was originally in response to someone posting about how Rosa Parks was a Zionist who asserted that "Zionism is not racism" and how one shouldn't idolize anyone, but the person said "except John Brown" so because I wanted to be a "well actually" nerd I posted about how because Kansas was technically declared a white ethnostate during Bleeding Kansas, John Brown could be described as the white ethnostate's strongest soldier, although that probably wasn't how he himself saw it as he was known for launching raids into Missouri and calling people cowards for only fighting slavers when they cross the border so it is a bit of misnomer to say he was defending the white ethnostate from slavers explicitly, but it is just one of those things which can be technically true if you squint.
More context demonstrates that Kansas being declared a white ethnostate is largely a product of the concept of "popular sovereignty" being taken to its logical extreme where people were basically just voting on literally everything and people really liked voting "yes" to things such that I think that technically Kansas was both a white ethnostate and had black suffrage at the same time at one point, and that it stopped being a white ethnostate because literally one guy made a speech and everyone changed their minds and agreed to let black people into the ethnostate, but at that point in time there also wasn't any black suffrage anymore.
Kansas had Four Constitutions.
The first one was declared in Lecompton, which is near the border with the slave state of Missouri. This was a constitution declaring Kansas to be a slave state.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lecompton_Constitution
In response to this Free Soil settlers in Topeka got together and created their own constitution which banned black people from entering the state.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Topeka_Constitution
The practical difference between declaring yourself to be a white ethnostate and "the ridiculous charge of abolitionism" is to take the position that one is not trying to abolish anyone's property, they are just saying they can't bring their property over here.
At the same time, it is notable that drawing the equivalence between free black people and black slaves is affirming the personhood of those slaves. Black slaves cannot be brought into the white ethnostate because they are black people, and people who are black are banned from entering. This inadvertently throws a wrench in the entire logic of slavery as the slaver will insist that there are no black persons entering as he is merely bringing his property into the state, but the free soil white ethnostaters are like "no fuck you, you can't bring black people here". Since black people are banned as people they can't be brought in as property.
why this situation came about is due to the implicitly assumption of "Popular Sovereignty", which states that the residents of the territory should be able to decide if slavery is legal or not UPON ADMISSION INTO THE UNION. However in the default state before the question of slavery is decided upon is just assumed that people can bring over as many slaves as they want. This implies that slavery is the default state of being as the land is effectively a slave state until some decision is reached. Declaring a white ethnostate by not actually banning slavery but just banning the people who would be slaves from the territory asserts that the default is actually to be a free state as slavery is only introduced when black people get introduced, as without black people there are no slaves. The default is to be a free state.
The reason this is relevant is related to the tenth amendment where any powers not explicitly reserved for the federal government are reserved to the States, or to the people. In this context a Federal Territory is a product of the Federal Government so the powers of the territory are limited by the limits placed on the Federal government. Popular Sovereignty asserts that "powers reserved to the people" outside the Federal government can still apply, which is how you get "the people" using these powers to create territorial governments that ban black people or allow slavery or granting universal male suffrage including black people etc. Popular sovereignty could basically do anything, but that it implicitly accepted that slaves could be brought into a place before slavery was officially legalized there it implied that slavery was within the "natural rights" that existed before government was put in place, and thus in order to combat slavery before official entry as a Free State you basically just needed to keep black people out entirely as a "right reserved for the people" was the ability to deny entry to whoever you wanted. The notion that the free/slave decision would only be made upon entry into the union and that before that both slaves would technically be allowed essentially just meant that unless you could rush in enough people to qualify for Statehood before a bunch of slaves were brought in, a new state was doomed to being a Slave State. This also implied that one needed the federal government to grant Statehood before slavery could be banned, but as evidenced but all the random nonsense the people of Kansas voted upon, apparently you could do literally anything you wanted before Statehood, so it is a bit strange that slavery and slavery alone was this default thing which could only be officially banned in a state upon being granted Statehood.
This was the Third "Leavenworth" Constitution of the four proposed in 1856. When you consider that under the Topeka Constitution that everyone had voted to exclude black people from the state in a referendum you can only come to the conclusion that the same people who had voted to exclude black people from the state had also voted for a Constitution that gave black men the right to vote. The fourth "Wyandotte" Constitution was the one that was approved by Congress, this one banned slavery and let black people into the state but did not give them the right to vote, so it reversed both black suffrage and white ethnostatism which had previously been voted upon via "popular sovereignty" and the only thing it kept from the two prior Free State constitutions was banning slavery. While the Topeka Constitution did not ban black people from the state in the Constitution itself but instead did so through referendum one can only conclude that a Constitution granting black men the right to vote did not actually reverse the prior referendum, so Kansas was a white ethnostate with black suffrage until the adoption of the fourth Constitution which reversed both. Interestingly the fourth Constitution has wanted to keep the white ethnostatism in it until literally just some guy made a speech advocating that black people should be let into the white ethnostate and then apparently people were all like "okay sure" and enough delegates changed their votes.
What we can conclude from this is that people were taking the concept of "popular sovereignty" seriously and they were literally just doing whatever the fuck they wanted and changing their minds on the fly. So these means that if someone in Topeka suggested "hey we should ban black people from the state" people were like "sure!" and then if someone in Leavenworth was like "hey we should give black people the right to vote" people were also like "sure!" and then if someone in Wyandotte was like "we should give women and black people property rights but not the right to vote" people were like "sure!"
(continued)
Part 2 / 2
Regardless one can only conclude that since the referendum banning black people from entering the state was only reversed with the Wyandotte Constitution that Kansas was a white ethnostate (with black suffrage) all throughout this period.
How this is relevant to John Brown is that this was the government he thought for, so it is entirely correct to call John Brown "the white ethnostate's strongest soldier" because he was technically fighting for a government which was a white ethnostate against the Missouri slaving government. His differences with the other settlers generally came from him criticizing them for their inaction and cowardice as they would join him in common defense of Kansas but wouldn't participate in his cross border raids back into Missouri, however in the context that most settlers just thought of Kansas as a white ethnostate and were fighting slavers trying to bring slavery into Kansas rather than against slavery generally, they weren't cowards so much as they had entirely different preferences. Still regardless, John Brown fought on the same side as the white ethnostaters of Kansas on a purely technical level.
Of course John Brown never participated in any of the decisions which declaed Kansas a white ethnostate while he lived there, but he still lived in the white ethnostate and fought to defend it from raids from the slave state of Missouri. I don't say this to criticize him, rather I'm just saying that the specific thing you said and the specific person you said it about can be technically applicable if your argument is based on support for an ethnostate. The difference is mainly that Rosa Parks openly endorsed the Zionist ethnostate by asserting that "Zionism is not racism", where as John Brown merely fought for a white ethnostate circumstantially without really saying anything about the place being a white ethnostate. From his perspective he was just fighting AGAINST a slave state though so that doesn't necessarily imply any kind of support FOR a white ethnostate, but I just saying that circumstantially you can make a possible equivalent argument here.
The reason I say this is that rarely is the full contextual story told, and when you do tell the story of everything it its full context you end up tripping up on technicalities. What is interesting though is that the position of "Zionism is not racism" which Parks endorsed asserts that Zionism was already considered to be racism back then and people were just saying "no its not", but you end up in similar situations. Was the Kansas White Ethnostate "racist"? Well it gave black people the right to vote! (It just so happened that it denied black people the right of entry) but if you dig deeper into the full political context of how slavery was being treated as a "default" you can begin to understand how white ethnostatism might have even been necessary to stop slavery until a place could be more securely a Free State upon official admission into the Union as a State, with that final fourth Constitution which banned slavery but allowed free black people in only being possible once it could be reasonably assured that the Constitution was going to get approved and Kansas would become a state and not have to worry about becoming a slave state because of some shenanigans anymore.
In this full context "racism" as vector of analysis completely breaks down. Rather instead what becomes clear is the class struggle between slavers and non-slavers with "racism" being merely a field of battle which can either be used to support the system of slavery, or fight against it.
In this sense too, I don't actually care if Zionism is "racist" or not. Instead one needs to look at the material basis of Zionism which is in the land seizures. Everything follows from there. The Palestinians who fled during the Nakba can't return to their homes because the Israelis don't want the Palestinians to take their property back. Wondering if this constitutes racism just confuses the issue. It is actually just a matter of "one person took property from another person and they are doing everything in their power to prevent that person from trying to reclaim it" and the "racist" policies of the state of Israel are just a manifestation of trying to throw everything at the wall and seeing what can stick in regards to keeping the Palestinians who got kicked out from reclaiming their property. In some respects one can view Israel as being "in too deep". They need to keep piling on a bunch of lies and nonsense to protect the original lie of them asserting that the house they live in is their house. Criticizing them for their racism is still not getting at the crux of the issue which is that original central lie in regards to who actually owns the property that exists in Israel. Everything follows from this initial dispute and they are trying to prevent the Palestinians from returning to their property because they fear that they'd actually lose the legal battle if the returning Palestinians were able to genuinely push it through the courts into trying to determine who actually owns stuff. This is because Israel engaged in the process of Primitive Accumulation where one just declares property exists where none existed before in the context of a place which already had bourgeois property norms which would have made that otherwise impossible. What everyone (to explain wider support for Zionism) fears about this is that expropriators can be expropriated by entirely legal means in this case without the usual chicanery where there is some kind of ambiguity that enables the primitive accumulation. In some sense the Israelis just screwed the entire bourgeois system over by being so blatant about it that it couldn't even be justified in the context of bourgeois laws.

Parents, what apps do you use for young children (aged 3-6ish) that aren't complete fucking dogshit? Educational ones or ones that aren't overstimulating slop (like YouTube Kids).
I don't know if they're available on phones, and anyways you shouldn't let your child use a phone, but all the Humongous Entertainment games are good fun in a way that I think can be beneficial for kids' brains (compared to all the other slop out there anyways).
Why not get them books? Or one of the leapfrog books that teach reading with sound? There's tons of kid level science and history books. Get them to value learning for its own sake early.
Are leapfrog books in stores? We do read to them daily
I've seen them in Walmart or Target, you can also just get them online.

Are people who discuss politics on online political forums in every country overrepresented by comp sci/soft eng people? Like programmers being online?
I don't have proof but I'm pretty sure yes. I think part of it is an arrogance that programmers have that they can come up with a solution to anything.
I think this is actually kind of a good trait. (I'm a programmer)
Programmers tending to be socially awkward will make them less likely to pay attention to certain social norms and taboos.
"Creatives" on the other hand...
Maybe a combination of familiarity with and curiosity of the internet beyond the few consumer friendly hubs leading to higher forum use. Also maybe a more mechanistic practical approach to thinking leads to deeper political discussion, especially attempts at problem solving, than just team sports type politics. Could also involve the PMC influence, as in tech/eng have more money, more education, more free time to discuss.
Rightoids and AI Image generators are a match made in hell with how much they love using the eye melting mush. Tbh all politicians now that I think about it.

I've been thinking about Nigeria and how to distract from Israel Trump's administration is trying to point out that some genocide of christians is going on. This is untrue, while there are jihadists they aren't exactly genociding christians so much as trying to enforce sharia law. The killing of Christians is actually a product of the farmer-herder conflicts where the Fulani will kill those who mess with their livestock. The killings are therefore more ethnic in character than religious, but this has more to do with the herders tending to be a different ethnicity than the farmers. You find such conflicts replicating between bedouin and settled arabs even if both are arab.
Anyway if one is aware of what is going on in Nigeria such that you know that what is happening you come to the conclusion that Nigeria is quite a dysfunctional state. There are lie a million different conflicts going on an if you lump them all together you can come to the conclusion that some kind of genocide of Christians is going on even though not really. The Biafra War was a kind of genocide by starvation and there was a killing of Igbo merchants in the North as part of a Northernization campaign of commercial assets where the Northerners cut deals with the British where the British could retain partial control in exchange for Northern Nigerians owning shares, this was in lieu of full Africanization or Nationalization which would have taken the businesses away from City of London financiers. The Igbo were Christian and the North was Muslim but this genocide was ethnic rather than religious in nature.
The ironic part about all of this is that the Igbo were the most westernized population in Africa as they are the coastal people of the Delta and therefore outward looking and readily sent their children to receive Western educations which is why many of them dominated in business, the opposing end of this is Boko Haram in the which means Western education is forbidden, so in Nigeria you see the largest discrepancy with both poles being present. The Igbo were able to leverage their knowledge of the West to drive much sympathy for their cause so the public was on the side of the Igbo even as the British themselves supported the Northerners. This is similar to the phenomena where the West chooses to align itself with the Saudis who literally hate Western people and Western ideas while making enemies out of Iran where the Ayatollah cites deToqueville's Democracy in America assuming most Americans must have read it and you had Assad who was literally an Eye Doctor in London. The ruling class prefers working with people who hate westerners and everything they stand for, probably because the people who study the west largely assert they should be independent of it on an equal basis, whereas those who hate the west seem to have no problem taking western money and being subordinate to it. The sooner western imperialism falls the sooner the west will stop propping up these western hating regimes. Fucking Saudis man, hope Yemen or Iran overrun them some day.
Anyway, back to Nigeria and it being an utterly dysfunctional state. Some blame colonialism for this but Ethiopia is often in a similar situation (though ethiopia can be said to have done their own colonialism resulting in them having the mixture of ethinicities and religions that provide the strengthening diversity liberal anti-colonialists say are the reason African countries are unstable), but regardless the thing that is most notable is just have successful Nigeria is DESPITE it being a totally failed state. Nigerians dominate the business world of Africa to such a degree that every other African country hates them. The bourgeoisie is clearly thriving even if the country is not. What this means is that "having a stable country" doesn't actually need to be a priority in the capitalist system, your country can be completely falling apart with a civil war every other week and the bourgeoisie can be doing just fine.
Yeah, I've worked with a ton of Nigerians and these people fucking hustle, man. Of course, it isn't always legal work (the infamous scamming) but it's still the same work ethic. They're like the Germans of Africa. I can't speak to the root causes of the matter but the rife corruption there is almost unprecedented. It really is unfortunate they aren't at least a regional power given the sizes of the country and population.
If anyone wants to see the new (old?) narratives being churned up regarding the Ukraine war and as a consequence western brain-rot go check mapporn. They're posting maps about the Winter War and Continuation War. The comments look exactly like you think they do.
Bill Clinton doesn’t get enough shit for signing the Sonny Bono Act.
Anything related to intellectual property (including enforcement of obscenity law on intellectual property) is basically the very last thing people in the anglosphere care about, despite it actually being vitally important to how a society exchanges and develops information. IP plays a tremendous role in influencing culture. And I'm entirely convinced that Western culture has been stunted by how the US and the Commonwealths approach intellectual property.
I'm seriously done with reddit. I posted in a data subreddit. It's a map visualizing the countries that do and do not extradite their own citizens. ie, if the nationality of the requested person precludes them from being extradited to another country. It's a simple map based on a study conducted by the Law Library of Congress.
There's a barrage of Canadians that have come out of the woodwork to call me all kinds of names because they disagree with a basic fact. Canada extradites its own citizens. That's it. That's what the map says. And tons of Canadians are going ape shit over it and asking me to fraudulently modify the data to change how Canada appears on the map. It's absurd.
I swear reddit was the worse thing to be invented, ever.
That's because the kind of canadians one tends to find on reddit are mostly white collar bullshit-jobbers who spend all day writing 3-line emails and dicking around on social media, talking and posting with great confidence on subjects about which they are wildly ignorant; They are as dishonest as they are stupid.
They also look down on trade and probably looks down at miguarded factory workers who got displace by globalization
“Gladue considerations are a myth, the only reason Myles Sanderson was free to get a double-digit kill count was because of errors made by the parole board.”

From the 15th century onwards, Western Europe gradually ceased to be patrilocality, but are still patrilineality. Inheritance rights still prioritize male lineage, and this inequality in property ownership led to the continued patriarchy in Europe. Neolocal residence(nuclear family) already existed in pre-industrial England and other regions.
Patriarchy resulting from both patrilocal residence and patrilineal inheritance represents a specific form of patriarchy. Within such systems, the phenomenon of the “uterine family” may emerge: women, deprived of formal authority, may attempt to exert influence over their sons in order to access status and resources within the household.
In these contexts, men often maintain particularly close relationships with their mothers, who may exercise authority on their sons’ behalf to manage the behavior of daughters-in-law.
Marriages are frequently arranged, with individuals having limited input in the selection of their spouse. Parental considerations typically prioritize the son’s ability to produce heirs and continue the family line, rather than factors such as physical attraction or emotional compatibility between the couple—after all, they are not the ones who will share a bed with her.
Mothers, in particular, may prefer to arrange marriages with spouses to whom their sons are not initially attracted, thereby preventing the emergence of rival female influences within the household. Daughters-in-law are often selected based on obedience, facilitating maternal oversight.
Women's limited self-interested choices within a patriarchal system reinforce the patriarchal system itself.
Prospective brides are frequently aware that, in their married lives, their mothers-in-law will share a more significant role than their husbands. In some societies, parents describe the marital process not as “finding a husband” for their daughters, but rather as “finding a mother-in-law.” Sexual relations between husband and wife may be treated primarily as a duty, with limited emphasis on intimacy.
Within the West, Italian men carry a stronger stereotype of being mother-bound, which reflects Southern Europe’s later departure from the patrilocal residence legacy compared to Western Europe.
[Disclaimer: This introduces the general dynamics of the paternal residence and paternal inheritance system, with specific case studies drawn primarily from East Asia rather than Europe or Italy. Europe is a reference, not the main subject. This is not an accurate description of European family history.]
If I was your editor I would make you call this "women be shoppin (for obedient daughters in law): feminist perspectives on patrilineality and patrilocality"
In an effort to improve the local newborn sex ratio (128 males: 100 females), a local government in China rewards newborns for taking their mother's surname, thus countering local patrilineality customs—which is speculated to have contributed to a preference for sons and abortion/killing/neglect of daughters.
I guess they're too much of a feminist.

Women be balancing sex ratios
The official's name is male.
If a woman gives birth to a daughter instead of a son, her husband's family will ignore her and refuse to help take care of her or the child. And if three daughters are born, it is simply the most serious crime and requires being beaten as a result.
Do you know that a baby girl's paternal close relatives (in this case, her father) would kill her with needles, giving her a painful death, in order to scare away the female soul and make it easier for the family to have a son?

Workers be overworking. Your cognitive dissonance is comical.
How would any society survive this? It sounds like the gender imbalance should be even more extreme if this is widespread. Does this phenomenon have any version in Euro/Mediterranean history? If not, why? Are social ties weaker or limitations on number of children a factor? Is there a difference in valuing bloodlines and ancestors? Is modern medicine the accidental cause of this in terms of having the options of abortion, lower infant and maternal mortality or decrease in labor value? I would have thought all kids would be desired even with a preference for males, given more kids means more social connections and more labor in order to survive. A daughter might not inherit but she can still marry and therefore bind 2 families to support each other economically and socially. Is there any similar phenomenon among the most strict conservative Muslim cultures?
What about second sons? If the cause is inheritance then wouldn't any secondary sons be considered a problem as well given they would either split inheritance or be a threat to the first son? Also, wouldn't a woman with no brothers be higher in value because her father's property could pass to a husband? Wouldn't that translate to preferential treatment by suitors?
In contrast, China and North India practiced monogamy-with-concubines or outright polygyny, which made it generally feasible to exclude women from inheritance entirely.
I think the latter represents a kind of “default setting” pattern of how far patriarchal power can go, whereas in the former case — I’m not an expert in European history — my impression is that this resulted from the Church being strong enough to prevent nobles and manipulate inheritance rules.
A son who stays in your family is more advantageous than a daughter who is destined for another family, not only because he can farm, but also because the more sons you have, the more likely your family is to win in the brutal battle for land.
Archival records from 1503 show that men accounted for 74.63% of the recorded population in Fujian (partly may be due to hidden or unreported women, but still). Even so, this pressure was only partially alleviated by the fact that women commonly remarried multiple times. In these regions, more than 25% of men over age 25 were unmarried.
Women be missing the mark
Just a heads up that might be of interest:
In Spain, particularly the northern areas of celtiberian and Basque ancestry women have traditionally had a somewhat more relevant or at least lests subdued social status compared to the rest of their continental counterparts.
At least among some of the celtiberians populations, females are said to have wielded some sort of civil authority in one context or another-.
It's hard because celts are not exactly known for having left much of a written record and much of it is guesswork but just like with the brittish isles and Ireland, certain patterns may aid in a credible reconstruction.
It's also a terrible uncomfortable aspect of history to study because it attracts culture warriors like an island full of underage girls attracts elites.
This could be a pattern, as the dynamics of China and its ethnic minorities are similar. A hilly ethnic minority in China is even described as the only matriarchal society.
I suspect it's because the more civilized and institutionalized a society is, the easier it is for dominant powers to consolidate themselves. Small inequalities at the outset are more likely to persist and solidify into extreme ones.
Uh oh, looks like we hit the infamous 100k subreddit members mark finally. So when do we get our assigned turbojannie to clamp down on all our wrongthink?
We haven't crossed 100k subscribers. Reddit just changed what they display from subscribers to weekly visitors. As you can see here we still only have 99,594 subscribers. We're getting close though.
So. Is the offsite locked and loaded for it just in case?
It's still under development. u/bbb23sucks would know more.

But because I can't do shit for irl politics (tried for years, don't have the ability to organize and can't find organizers worth working for) then writing might be the only way I can maybe contribute anything. So the question is write what and how? What won't be pretentious pseudointellectual masturbation? What would be actually useful and if not completely novel then at least a novel distillation of older works? How do I approach goals and research and verification of facts, quality, novelty and utility?
I'm thinking some type of total program defining and justifying the goal society and path to it all the way down to nuts and bolts. Not aspirational, but instead technical. As in no prose, no analogies, metaphors nor stories. Defining all terms until ambiguity and gaps are all gone. No "we'll figure it out after the revolution" or hand gesturing or waving at solutions or problems. No appeal to emotion or authority. Work things from first principles, clear evidence, detailed general models that can be applied to specific situations as needed. If something is truly unknowable/incomplete then that gap should be defined and explained and nothing should build over it. As in if the goal is A and there is a lower step C but the middle step B is unknown/incomplete, then that lower step C should not be included because it is unknown if it even connects to goal A. Practical information should be provably effective and feasible and as manual like as possible. No appeal to tradition or "in theory this should work" while it clearly doesn't irl (such as traditional labor organizing works in theory but not in practice). The only subjectivity/opinions should be in what goals/principles are chosen (such as economic equality). No hopefully or guesses.
I need to read what has been written on these subjects and identify where those works have gaps, find works that fit those gaps, and then figure out how to fill whatever gaps don't have clear works that fill them. In short synthesizing what exists to have a single rather than multiple works and figure out what gaps actually remain in what others have written.
Before that I need an outline of what I'm even trying to write.
My question then is what do you think should be in this work? What questions need to be answered regarding how individual and social life should be and how to get there? What questions to answer to avoid being critiqued as utopian/idealist both in political goals and means? Questions can range from what should education be like to how do you ensure compliance to how do you recruit someone to how do you deal with enemy coercion.
What books or other works are there that have tried this before? What do they never answer? What should I do to avoid failures of those past attempts? I'll probably get someone saying "read Capital", to which I ask what does Capital not answer and is there a modern successor to it given it's been 158 years.
I don't expect to actually succeed, but rather hope to figure out enough of a skeleton that is valuable enough on its own for others to continue fleshing out.
When the main goal is "something politically useful" there is a serious problem of defining scope. So how would you approach limiting scope?
Unless you're inventing a crystal ball, then you're gonna have to settle for hopefully and guesses. No one can predict the future.
Marx came the closest, which is why people say to read Capital, because it still holds up. There is no modern equivalent, but there are modern guides to reading Capital. I would pick one you like and start from there.
Sounds like a life's work, man.
I don't mean that in a bad way and I admire the willingness to do it.
I'm as lumpen as they go but I guess the one issue you could tackle is how egoism is cultivatred and institutionalized to the point where even basic cooperation of convenience between individuals the bottom ranks is disfunctional and eventually wears down the whole social machinery.
As I tried to say, I'm not sure what I want to write, I just want to write something worthwhile in terms of advancing human society rather than just adding to the noise. I'm not an academic or even white collar but internet access and proper scoping to something feasible should be enough, the scoping is the problem right now. There has to be some niche I can fill.
Yeah, the conflict between the individual and the collective (at the smallest level a collective of 2 people) is an important focus. Solving it is probably the key to everything, but that also means it's the hardest to solve.
Do you buy that 2016 Trump was to the left of Hillary as the political compass website argued at the time?
Performatively yes, but if you looked at the fine print it was clear he was always going to be economically to the right of Clinton and only midly opposed to migration.
I wonder if there's an overrepresentation among youtubers/content creators of turning trans. I'm surprised because one guy who was married and had been a youtuber for years (and is Texan which makes it stranger) went publicly trans after supposedly 2 years of hormones. Maybe it's because content creators are far more online so that increases chances of contagion? Still kind of sad. Reminds me of another youtuber who recently went into months of psychosis talking about being a prophet for Jesus and becoming homeless, though he recently became lucid again but idk if that'll last long.
I get why the institutional capture of academia/media/etc by libs and then wokes might have happened due to both competition among careerists and clout chasers and was boosted by capitalists seeking to divide the working class, but I don't get why that capture was so nearly total and why the theoretically ultra democratic (small d) internet mirrors it so much rather than being a source of various prominent non/anti woke cultures (of course I'm only referring to the English speaking internet). The only significant online opposition seems to be from GOP party line types and even then it's fringe and unorganized.
At least those I've noticed, its also seemed to be partially related to how youtubers with a specific focus tend to be a bit spectrumy and they tend to be more susceptible to the contagion of "you are a bit different and not confident in your out of shape body so you might be trans." Two youtubers I've followed that are an example here are ProtonJon and Jim Sterling who both always had their own quirkiness to them, and the latter especially was a bit more surrounded by some really vocal progressive types which seemed to have accelerated that transition.
Not sure how much hyper onlineness affects this though, and really doubt most do it for attention points since it is far more likely to cause drama than gain long term followers.
I don't think it has too much to do with online microfame, and probably just the company they keep and the fact that the majority of people have a poor conception of themselves.
When I was on "geeky and feminist" forums and IRCs back 15-18 years ago, it just seemed one day everyone became trans, despite being cis a month ago. Like I'd be in an IRC channel of 40 people and I realize that 15 of them now identify as trans and I'm like...how the fuck does that happen by chance, when I've met a total of maybe 1 or 2 trans people IRL? None were famous. It was just constant circlejerks about gender being a social construct, and people just changed their self-conception.
I'm not the most masculine person in the world and generally I get along better with women than men because I don't care about "masculine things" besides maybe the roman empire and computer stuff. But I'm also not feminine either. I am who I am, basically a dude who doesn't like cars and sports, and I'm fine with that. Seems like a lot of more gullible people would be similar and go "if I don't like cars and sports, then I don't fit with the Gender Norm, therefore I must be trans!"
It's a shame because I do think trans people exist, but it's been trivialized by people with a poor understanding of what being trans actually is.
As much as i want there to be a weird MKUltra side-effect of long-form internet video content turning people trans, I do think it's simply shut-in theatre kids are more likely to do video content and more likely to be trans.
There's also the fact that narcisisstic tendencies are practically a requirement for long term video making (much like theatre come to think of it), and as narcissism is actually insecurity, they become very dependent on attention, which at one point becomes irrelevant of what kind as long as it's attention.
Got recommended some rightoid YouTube channel and the first video I see is about "Black Fatigue" It's safe to say the comments were not full of people saying nice things about my race. There are legitimate problems to discuss but unfortunately to those guys it's all drowned out in a schizophrenic hateful mess.
Was in the cinema a month ago and they showed a trailer for some movie set in 1920s England, and it had a comedic scene where all the white people were hilariously failing, then suddenly shot to a black person, doing it 100% perfectly and the entire cinema groaned. So I definitely think "black fatigue" is a thing, you can see it as well with how black mainstream music domination since the 2000s has been crashing hard in the past year or so.
That said, yes I wish there were more "Stupidpol" style analysis/criticism of these sorts of cultural issues rather than the right being the ones to monopolize it, because even if rightoids point out very real things, they almost always have the most retarded analysis about it.
Op didn't give much context, but I parsed "black fatigue" as "being constantly tired and traumatized about being black in a white man's world".
Looks like the term has both meanings...black people being tired of being black, and white people being tired fo black people.
Either way, both are stupid.
They were never sane from the beginning anyway. However because the craziness infected the other side of the spectrum, they became more acceptable by the mainstream and it makes having a sane position extremely difficult
That’s my issue. I’m on the left politically but have more nuanced opinions. As much as the word “woke or SJW” got misused or overused, around 2017-2025 was peak time for a lot of left or progressive people to be complete and utter morons. It seems like that culture is now dying which is good but I don’t want to go back to right wing dominance either. I’m hoping that Trump being stupid and doing stuff like hesitant or the Epstein files, mass deportation m, and other stuff he’s doing that is unpopular will maybe stop that but I don’t want to pendulum back and forth between two extremes.
GW1 Reforged is coming soon, stupidpol should make a guild.
Also, I watched 2 movies. Don't Go In The Woods was fucking hilarious. I don't even know what the plot was but I'm pretty sure 10 people died within the first 30 minutes and it had shitty over the top blood. And then Spaced Out, a 1979 sci-fi sex-comedy. Meh, but the guy stuck in the vibrator chair and the spaceship blowing up in the end was pretty funny.
My favorite RPG of all time. I played the shit out of GW1 and came back a few times in later years. I logged in when I saw the announcement and had like 7 birthday gifts. I'm excited to see the new players and old players building up the population again. If they can get a good following again, I think they will release new content and I think that's why they brought it back.
The first time I played it, I made a female character and people kept giving me free stuff.
I'm really hoping on a population boom, I've been loving it so far(got it around 6 months ago).
How obvious was it in 2008 that Obama was a sellout?
About as obvious as Obama being able to defeat McCain, which is to say not very, despite the signs being there if you knew what to look for
Reed Jr is interesting because he had Obama’s number a decade before the guy ever ran for president, and called him out on the whole “community organizing” song and dance repeatedly
He argued that even Hillary would probably be less damaging to the future of left politics in America than the combination of behaviorist rhetoric and idpol pandering that Obama employed to further entrench systemic inequalities under the guise of transcending them
Didn’t matter. People had already decided they liked what Obama was selling, and once that dam breaks it’s over. The masturbatory “hope” of Obama’s neoliberal apologetics hit the PMC crowd like crack in the 80s. They had no more inoculation against it than the MAGA crowd would a decade later
A candidate’s authenticity, the validity of their claims, these are questions for history books and retrospectives. In 2008, as in 2016 and 2024, there was only one thing voters really wanted to hear. Something had to change
Reed couldn’t wrap his head around that, probably because Obama’s hokey “politics of hope” routine seemed so transparent to people like him who’d already seen Obama smile and schmooze his way through the swampy insider politics of Daley’s Chicago for two terms as a state senator
So while his pessimistic prognostications on the prospect of an Obama presidency proved potent and preternaturally prescient… they never drew much attention, because Reed himself was adamant that Obama could not win in November
Turns out the world simply does not work that way. People navigate politics less like a crime scene detective and more like a Jungian psychoanalyst, latching onto patterns that affirm their existing circumstances and beliefs. Truth is putty in the hands of anyone who realizes what people want to hear and has a large enough megaphone to shout with
Never believed one bit.
"Left" figure getting overwhelming positive media coverage and soft ball interviews always raises alarm bells for me. The left could come up with a cure for cancer and the media would cry about overpopulation.
I do think it's more obvious in hindsight - you can point to Larry Summers / the bailouts now and say everyone knew, but I think technocratic liberalism really needed its avatar to fail so completely in his long term goals and open up the current opportunity space. Trump, Sanders, and Biden are all his political children. Nobody believes the democratic party is capable of 'change' anymore. That was not the case in 2008.
If you weren't a starry eyed american millenial tween with half baked ideas about progress and 420, yeaaah then I'd say it was pretty obvious.
I remember my college dorm exploding when he was elected. I was happy Bush was gone but I knew nothing about Obama.
Somebody recommend me a book about the battle of Stalingrad.
Glantz and House: https://books.google.com/books/about/Stalingrad.html?id=iJOoEAAAQBAJ
thanks
Somebody said "the west" in this bar and i almost broke my neck turning around.
Then she corrected to "the northwest" and man was I disappointed
"By which I mean the Atlanticists."
Somewhat related, I live in an area with a high population of immigrants from the Eastern Bloc. It was wild in 2022 walking down the sidewalk and passing by the cafe hearing discussions on NATO that could have been in the stupidpol WW3 megathread.
If capitalists uphold the state in order to increase profits by pooling resources for security and working out disputes through the courts instead of direct violence, why then does the same effect not occur among for example the Mexican cartels?
Afaik the cartels have a greater presence than the Mexican government and are constantly in conflict with each other. Why haven't they simply legalized their own activities to neutralize the government threat and handle their disputes through the courts?
Or is it the type of people that affect whether violence occurs such that capitalists and their employees are drawn from a pacified population whereas cartels from a violent one? But couldn't capitalists still utilize security companies to brutalize competition without having their own people directly involved? And can't violent cartel members still value profit enough to see the utility of peaceful conflict resolution?
Why do the cartels and similar organizations appear to behave so differently to other capitalists?
They don't, but mostly because how they come to be.
For example, los zetas was a big cartel back in the 2000' to 2018's , mostly because they had tacit support from the right wing government and then the "centre right" government that ensued. In practice, they came to be effectively as a paramilitary force trained by mexican and us marines to act as mercenaries, which split off from a major cartel at the time. This is why they were so bloody/savage.
Today you see mercenaries working for the cartel using FPV drones much like you would see in ukraine to hit each other (you could count this as blowback from the UA). Like these, other skills that are related to warfare, clandestine operations, and cybersecurity are constantly sought for, developed, and nourished. The organizations not only manage production of drugs, but also accounting and taxing (e.g., some cartels tax business as if they were a state) and of course defense (from the military and other cartels).
It would be counter-productive for these organizations to lose all this human capital and skills, as it is a determining factor for these organizations, for there are many of them. The offramp is not as easy as "oh you guys are fine now" without effectively imploding the organization itself, or having it be consumed by rivaling factions. Most modern cartels are a splinter of previous cartels.
A possible model would be absorbing them into something like Russia's wagner unit, but i do not think the US would be keen on having such an organization managed in Latin America, let alone its southern neighbor.
Lame to say it, but I got banned from redscarepod after making a comment about Steven Crowder 's stint as a child actor. I am wondering if the bans have been happening to anyone else.
They got some wank ass mods there in the past year or two. I got permabanned (with mod mail mute) over a photo of a funny Japanese train signs (seibu railway signs google em) and I still have no fucking clue why.
I got permed for making an admittedly edgy (but not particularly so for RSP standards) joke about domestic violence in the Caribbean. I just chalked it up to the mods being understandably touchy about differentiating the main sub from the overtly racist offshoot that was active at the time.
Most of the RS subs have some pretty wack moderation though. In one of the offshoots I got a comment deleted and a very angry mod message that included some words in all caps for using the term “child porn” instead of “child sex abuse material.”
In both cases I just didn’t respond and kept it moving.
I got banned for a month for pointing out the fact that no matter what they think they are still redditors on reddit and thus uncool.
The subreddit user count has reached 99000. Time for another purge!
I only listen to real music.
