I just felt like I needed to tell someone who cared! My husband is a HUGE Star Trek lover, and an even bigger Lego enthusiast. When he found out that they were creating this- he watched hours of videos of how they are making it.
Well, yesterday, I decided to just do it. It doesn't get here until March, but I will surprise him at Christmas!

Not sure how long you can wait, but people sell their fully built lego sets after a few years. I have seen several expensive sets on facebook marketplace where I am like, who would buy this? Building it is part of the fun, so who would want I fully assembled set? I guess I was wrong…
I’m sure you can pay someone to assemble it for you. I’ve yet to assemble mine so not sure how long it will take, I fully expect it to take a couple days.

I do not get this. This is like getting a jigsaw puzzle and wanting someone else to put it together for you. Wouldn't you just want to buy a pre-made model or picture at that point?
Tell ya what, if you pay for it and watch my kids while I put it together, I'll assemble it for you. I'll even throw in "displaying it at my house" for no extra charge because that's just the generous gal I am.

I got this for myself. I haven’t done Legos in ages but my BFF is a Lego nerd as is my future DIL. So I have lots of people to help.
Last year I got a week vacation (I'm a SAHM so "vacation" for me was my wife telling me I was allowed to do whatever I wanted and was allowed to do it without the family) and all I did was book a week in a hotel room an hour away from my house (no one was going to ask me to "drop by the house real quick" to find a favorite toy) and build the X-Mansion Lego set and catch up on movies I had missed. It was so nice.

I ordered it first day, even got the shuttle GWP with it. But I won't build it before end of January: I have preordered a light kit that goes with this set by Light My Bricks. It's easiest to just build the set along with integrating the light kit. It was pretty expensive but the Enterprise just needs it's nacelles lit up correctly!

I gotta be honest and say i wasnt really stoked on it when i saw the images, but I just saw it built in person and I was completely wrong. It looks amazing and your hubs is lucky AF!!

Worth noting this set comes with two instruction booklets to ~half of the set each like bags 1-15 and 16-30. So depending on interests this could’ve a set to build together… just an idea/sidethought.
