Jay Glazer: Maxx Crosby Left Raiders Facility After They Wanted to Shut Him Down
  • 231 points Cosmicfool13

He left the facility, they don’t want him to play. Seems the raiders got what they wanted.

lol. They went from not having any issues with their best player, even though he’s got a million reasons to want out, to pissing him off and getting him to want out. Perfectly Raiders.

    parent
    35 points Basic_Yellow_3594

Sad thing is its the right move. The raiders have been dog shit at qb so long actually tanking all in to get one is crucial. We won 2 games with maxx sorry but defensive ends even mylesbgarret and his 50 sacks don't mean shit when you don't have a "guy" under center. We have to try

    parent root
    7 points Area51_Spurs

    I would generally agree.

But you don’t need to sit Maxx (and Brock) to do it and now you might lose at least one, plus get penalized by the league.

    parent root
    5 points Beelzebubbbbles

Is there even a qb worth tanking for this year?

    parent root

    Yes. Fernando

If he leaves the amount of marketing changes EVERYWHERE here in Vegas with him is going to be wild.

Even my gym has a 30 ft mural of him on the wall.

Additional comment: there’s a billboard on 215 heading into the strip that says “TIME TO COMPETE” with Pete Carroll.

    It did not age well.

    parent
    67 points apk5005

That sign was part of the Pete Carroll wooing campaign. It actually read: “Time to come, Pete.”

    parent root
    23 points TupperwareConspiracy

A huge miss here for some Vegas fertility clinic tie-in.

That’s how Dallas was with Luka, and they still traded him out of nowhere. So it’s possible lol

  • 89 points BoSocks91

This dude needs to get away from that disaster.

I respect players, especially elite players, for sticking with a team through the bad times, but their situation is so fucking bad, I wouldn’t want that guy wasting his prime years.

    parent
    8 points eziam

I understand why players do stick with shitty teams. NFL teams are corporate America and will fire/cut when productivity dives. NFL owners don't have loyalty.

If we get pick 1 and actually get a real qb shit might start change.

    parent root
  • 27 points ImOutWanderingAround

They did this shit to Derrick Carr so they could save him for trade value they never got. DC was so pissed he screwed the Raiders on his way out. It’s happening all over again.

    parent
    -1 points Frequent_Scratch_946

Except Carr got released not traded

    parent
  • 53 points chunkymonkey2376

Him and Garrett signed on knowingly terrible teams for the money. Don't feel sorry for either one

    parent
    13 points sloowhand

I don't think the point is to feel sorry for anyone. It's more to point out the stupidity of the Raiders in antagonizing the best player on the team and giving him reasons to leave in the off season.

    parent root
    1 points Basic_Yellow_3594

Best player on team and still only 2 wins. Bears weren't shit till they got caleb. E

Yeah go from one bad org to another Maxx!

    parent root
    1 points freericky

They aren’t shutting anyone down so he can play all the games!

    parent root
    12 points InclinationCompass

Can they afford him after what they’ve already spent on the offense?

    parent root
    14 points PeaceBull

Too many people pretend like it’s a coincidence that the bengals offense has been good and the defense has sucked the last few years

    parent root
    5 points DarthBrooks69420

    Ah, the Cowboys special.

    parent root

They can’t pay Hendrickson but gonna pay even more for Crosby?

    parent root
    3 points Great_Hambino2022

The could have paid Hendrickson. They chose not to

    parent root
    1 points Hizam5

Semantics. But point being they’re not gonna choose to pay Crosby even more

    parent root
    2 points YourMindlessBarnacle

They don't spend on defensive players.

    parent root

Alright, Las Vegas, hear me out. As a part-owner, I submit the following deal on behalf of the Packers:

You give him to us and we’ll take him to the Super Bowl for you.

    parent root
    4 points Blizzardof1991

    "part owner" lol

    parent root
    4 points FupaFerb

Pretty sure the Bengals can’t keep their own players either. Good try.

    parent root
    1 points CTQ99

Its to worsen their chances of winning the battle of the bottom this weekend with the giants. If the raiders win, they end up potentially going from the first overall pick to the 3rd. So realistically, its better for the franchise to have their stars not play because doing something like constantly having the center yeet the snap out of the endzone for infinite safeties would probably cause the league to take away the pick somehow. Players dont want to intentionally lose because it hurts them in negotiation time so its not like you can tell Geno to throw tons of picks so they can draft his replacement.

    parent root
    2 points sharkapotamus

Luckily, they don't have to ask Geno to do this.

    parent root
    1 points Basic_Yellow_3594

What do you mean? We have been awful for 20 years. There was nothing for him to destroy. We get pick 1 next year and we can get an actual qb

    parent root
    -2 points ImplementCharming949

How much does he really have. Seem like pete choice

    parent root
  • 26 points jmhumr

Never understood his allegiance to the Raiders up to this point. Awful franchise, depressing city. I don’t often condone players forcing their way off teams, but his situation makes sense as an exception. Same for Myles Garrett.

  • 14 points Any_Ad5199

They are pissing off their best players to secure the #1 pick in the draft. Raiders continue to do Raider things.

    It's literally the right move.

    parent root
  • 32 points hoodlumonprowl

Hi come to the Bears now please!

    parent
    9 points spazzxxcc12

the bears have only 8 mil cap space next year idk how that’ll happen very easily

    parent root
    1 points devadander23

8-17M depending on roster moves, plus the cap should increase next year, increased by 30M this past season for example. It’s not ‘no’

    parent root
    1 points Xero_id

    Trade Stevenson and Moore

    parent root
    3 points BearsHawksYNWA

    They are not trading Moore.

    parent root
    1 points Low-iq-haikou

Don’t think we will this offseason or next season, but I think part of the plan of drafting Burden is to have him become the WR2 down the line and use that to move DJ as a trade piece.

    parent root
    1 points Xero_id

They're also not getting Maxx but if they want a way or more cap I'd get rid of those 2 players. I do hope Bears find a way to get Garrett or Hendrickson as both want out from their teams but that's so unlikely.

    parent root
    1 points BeneficialChemist874

They should but his contract makes him an undesirable asset.

    parent root
  • 3 points ID_Poobaru

Can the Raiders send Jeanty away too, they’re gonna kill him

    parent
  • 8 points Moneyshot_ITF

Maxx, come back to the bay

    parent
  • 4 points lipp79

Man I know it’s not feasible but I would love to see him paired with Aiden Hutchinson.

    parent
    -1 points Sitty_Shitty

Yeah, Lions window closing like it did. Aiden on the Raiders is a good fit.

    parent root
    5 points lipp79

Lol Raiders are way worse than the Lions.

    parent root
    1 points coolguyjosh

Lions window isn’t closing. They had a lot of new coaches and didn’t properly address O/D -line needs in the offseason. That and losing your two all-pro safeties with most of your starting CBs being down for chunks of the season, they were bound to have a bad year.

    parent root
    3 points illforgetsoonenough

You just named a bunch of defensive issues but it was the offense that completely shit the bed and gave the game away while the defensive secondary allowed 3 net passing yards and still lost

This all being overblown and Crosby knows the right move at this point is to play to lose and the team knows if he plays he won’t play to lose so rather than insult him by pulling him they told him sit down and heal for next yr

He can play for any team he wants. Any GM would move heaven and earth to make room for him and he chooses to be a raider. That’s some Stockholm syndrome type shit.

    parent
    1 points Basic_Yellow_3594

They chose him when your armchair gm scouting report on him was "he looks too thin to play in the nfl probably a late round guy"
