I think everyone has a San Antonio problem. SA has a deep team with lots of athletic young players with a high ceiling, just like OKC. Then you gotta deal with how the game completely changes when they put Wemby in. He has the opposite of Curry's gravity when he's patrolling the paint.
OKC is a bit overrated. They’re obviously very good. They’re the deepest team in the league and lead by one of the best players in the league. But they’re way more beatable than a lot of people think. A scrappy Indiana team took them to 7 games last year and if Haliburton’s Achilles didn’t explode, there’s a good chance they would’ve been upset by Indy.
I think part of it is they were also super young and expected to come back even stronger just from players like Chet and Williams getting better. They’re still favorites but yes, definitely vulnerable. This ain’t a 17 warriors situation.
Right? It's giving "dominant team that suddenly forgets how to play against one specific opponent" energy.
The stats make it even wilder - they're absolutely demolishing everyone else but the Spurs just have their number for some reason. Sports rivalries like this are so weird, like there's some psychological block that kicks in.
They are still very much on pace to do that again, but this year the Spurs are a horrific matchup for them. OKC are still the best team in the league but they have some weaknesses and matchups that can be exploited.
Harper has got so good so fast. Sometimes i'm like "nonono" with some of his decisions like taking on 2-3 OKC players in ISO & drives. Then he converts.
The schedule strength argument is interesting, but they've still managed to blow out most of those 'easy' opponents by historic margins, which says something about their execution regardless of competition level.
OKC clearly has a San Antonio problem and it’s going to make the playoff seeding very intriguing.
They are not equipped to deal with this level of consistent rim-pressure, and their offense is nothing special in the half court

They also had an absurdly easy schedule to start the season
Their schedule has been too easy so far, which is why they have that massive record. They actually have 3 wins and 4 losses against decent teams.

Paper Champs
RemindMe! 6 months
I’ll remind you that Lou Dort is a bitch.
Wembanyama is unstoppable.
26-1 versus everyone else. Some real Georgia - Bama shit.
26-2. They lost to the wolves and the blazers
My bad. The live box score hadn’t added today’s loss.
What? They had 2 losses against everyone else before today’s loss, “live box score” today is entirely irrelevant.
They now have 5 losses, 3 against the Spurs, 2 against “everyone else”.
It said four losses at the time I looked. I knew this was their third to the Spurs (not catching that there was still a minute left in this game).
The “everyone else” is a lot of bad teams.
Extremely easy schedule to start the season.

lol remember in the beginning of the season when everyone thought that (OKC) could break the Warriors record?
I mean were they wrong? They were performing extremely well, only until recently they lost 3 times. Of course hind sight is 20/20
Was as recent as less than a week ago that so many people thought it was still likely.
Pistons on their way to the top
DEEEEEEEETROIT BASKETBAAAAAAALL!
It’s almost as if OKC schedule was relatively weak early in the season.
The weakest actually
I mean they won 68 games last year with the same squad..was that a fluke?
They are still very much on pace to do that again, but this year the Spurs are a horrific matchup for them. OKC are still the best team in the league but they have some weaknesses and matchups that can be exploited.
okc is a fraud, cant wait till they lose in the first round of the playoffs
Thank you, this team is dog water. Chet Holmgren as the big man lmao give me a break
OKC can’t shoot.
The cracks are seeping through OKC. You can can’t hide the fraud Adam Silver with your bum refs
The only thing that can save OKC at this point is the refs getting them more to the free throw line
FrEe tHrOw MeRcHaNt har har har. Maybe your team should just git gud
1 title franchise talking big smack
Most recent title. Yeah. Living in the past sound like Dallas cowboys fans.
Harper has got so good so fast. Sometimes i'm like "nonono" with some of his decisions like taking on 2-3 OKC players in ISO & drives. Then he converts.
our only hope
Can't wait for SAS and all the other clows still saying they think Shai should be MVP over Joker.
The schedule strength argument is interesting, but they've still managed to blow out most of those 'easy' opponents by historic margins, which says something about their execution regardless of competition level.
Wait for that OKC 4-0 sweep in the Western Conference Final
There was basketball on today?
