Funfact: Belgium has the highest energy costs prorata because corruption driven by French energy companies (hi, nukebros) mean they have more streetlights than they need thanks to lighting overdevelopment (deliberate, corrupt).
As you can see on that photo France has cut down drastically on street lights (in many places they are now switched off at night) and gone from high energy hogs lights to low energy leds.

Why is Snowdonia / N Wales so bright?
It’s not. That’s Manchester, Birmingham, and Liverpool. North Wales is the dark bit to the left.
Looks like mostly Wrexham and the coast through to Llandudno. Nothing much in Snowdonia.
