"This image is a composite of the maximum of the Geminid meteor shower 2022, obtained during the night of December 13-14.
More than 1,300 photographs were obtained, which were manually reviewed one by one to detect and extract the meteor trails, during the approximately 7 hours that the camera captured images.
The landscape shows the Teide volcano (3,718 m), the highest mountain in Spain (Tenerife, Canary Islands) with the volcanic landscape of the Teide National Park, illuminated by the light of the waning moon.
In the sky above the peak of the volcano appears the great Orion nebula (M42) and above it the stars that make up the so-called belt of this constellation.
The image was captured with a small telephoto lens located about 10 km away from the volcano"
