Any artists here who know good creative groups and artist gatherings in Europe?
Planning a solo trip to Europe later this year. I’m thinking of either France/Uk/Prague & Budapest. I’m a solo female traveller and this would be my first international solo trip. ✨
I’m looking for recos, people who would like to meet/be friends. 🥂 I’m a multimedia designer so I’m specifically attracted to art and culture. Mostly get along very well with creative, adventurous and fun loving people.
I’m open to other countries too if right company can guide me. 🥰
27m, looking for travel recommendations. I’ve been out of the US once, went to Isla Mujeres solo and stayed at an airbnb and had an amazing time, would prefer a somewhat similar vibe with nightlife, walkability, food, etc., not opposed to an all inclusive but I prefer to be able to experience the countries culture, cuisine and women
Is anyone else having severe existential anxiety that if I don’t quit my job and go traveling right now, the opportunity might not be there in the future?
How do you spot "small" hostels?
It seems like many people prefer staying in small/medium sized hostels because it's more intimate and makes it easier to meet people.
However, how do you look for these hostels intentionally when booking when information on guest capacity, property size etc. is generally not available?
Hi just wondering if there are any other solo travellers doing the Ultimate Canada Contiki trip starting on the 10th October? Would love to make a friend or 2 before I go.
Anyone in Malaysia this week?
Hello mid trip advice,
looking for some advice on place to visit. I am currently staying in Bled and love it! Slovenia overall has been absolutely amazing. a little background, first solo trip. planned on doing city but after not loving Budapest opted to go to Ljubljana and Bled instead of Vienna.
now for the question, I currently have the ability to go anywhere, I have plans in Milan on the 20th, with a flight out of Prague to Milan on the 19th.
my options seem to be: leave for Prague tomorrow/the next day or miss my flight and stay near the alps over the next few days and slowly make my way to Milan.
any advice for locations in the Winter while not interested in skiing? For reference, my order of preference for locations so far: Bled, Lisbon, Porto, Ljubljana, Budapest, London.
Any locations between Bled and Milan that are 1000% worth the trip in the winter? Would the Prague experience be significantly different from Budapest? Just looking for any advice that a traveler can offer.
thanks!
Hi all
How much is worth preplanning/prebooking (rooms, tours etc) when going on a trip in advance?
for example: 3 weeks in Mexico
CDMX > Oaxaca > San Jose Del Pacifico > Make my way back to CDMX
Should I full prebook all accomodation and travel or leave some of it flexible?
Thanks
Depends on how tight your budget it. Prices are typically less if booked in advance, but I typically had a better time when I left room for flexibility
Hey everyone,
I am (25 M) traveling to CDMX staying in hostels from Jan 18-26. Giving my first solo trip a shot. Is anyone else there around the same time? Would love to connect and roam around the city while meeting new people !
Hello,
Heading to first solo backpacking trip to Vietnam. Suggestions / critique on below itinerary please
Itinerary check:
Day 1(Jan 21): Hanoi arrival
Day 2 : Hanoi
Day 3 : Hanoi Ninh Binh day trip
Day 4 : Hanoi Cat Ba (PM)
Day 5 : Cat Ba FULL DAY (Lan Ha Bay)
Day 6 : Cat Ba -> Da Nang (HPH flight)
Day 7 : Hoi An
Day 8 : Hoi An/Da Nang beach
Day 9 : Hoi An Hanoi (flight)
Day 10 : Hanoi
Day 11 : Hanoi chill
Day 12: Return flight
Add HaLong Bay and Tam Coc into your plans. You will already be close to both areas.
I chose over Lan Ha bay instead of HaLong assuming they have similar views. Don't they?
And yes I will visit Tam Coc during the Ninh Binh trip
It looks great. I assume that Cat Ba trip is a tour? Good youre staying in Hoi An and not Danang. You could even add another day to Hoi An if it suits your schedule. Happy travels!
I haven't booked any tours for cat ba but I understand that there would be many tour groups I can join in.
Yes I was thinking 4+ days of Hanoi is a lot. Should I postpone the return flight to hanoi to day 10 and have day 9 in hoi an/ da nang?
Yes that would be good regardless, its sort of unique.
Hanoi is extremely hectic, after 3 days youll probably have had enough, although there's always new things to see and eat there
Done and done. Thanks for the suggestion!
Hey everyone, I’m currently in Goa and was thinking of heading out to a club tonight (12 Jan). Don’t really feel like going alone, so thought I’d check here.
Just to be clear — I don’t drink, but I enjoy music, dancing, and the overall club vibe. Ideally looking to join a group or connect with a few girls who are already planning to go.
Nothing sketchy or rushed — just chill company and good energy for the night. Comment here or DM if you're interested
just turned 18 and bought my first plane ticket to new zealand. i literally cannot believe i actually took steps towards this goal. im so nervous/excited lol
That kinda giddy feeling after first booking a trip is so great. Happy travels!
All the best for your trip. New Zealand is a stellar choice to begin with. Have a gala time!
Hello, love solo travel currently planning two holidays this year. One made total sense in my mind while planning it. But not at all when actually looking at the flights 😂 back to the drawing board with that
Any encouragement or warning for a US driver renting a car in Ireland?
Hey everyone! First time poster but been lurking for ages. Finally booked my first solo trip to Japan for March and honestly still can't believe I actually did it lol. Been wanting to do this for like 3 years but kept chickening out. Any last minute tips for a nervous first-timer would be amazing
You’ll be fine. Japan is quite accessible to foreign tourists and is incredibly well set up for solo travellers. Make sure that you get away from the touristy places for some of your trip - foreigners go to a surprisingly narrow range of places in Japan.
