I would write a long essay on all the parts I disagree with, but frankly I'm not well-read enough to offer a good rebuttal. I will only say I found his video full of claims, light on explanation, and self-serving in its solutions. Instead of a mass movement, instead of getting an organization started, we must instead get more fitness influencers and podcasters, and you can do it if you follow my worksheet!
Also the right is somehow naturally just smarter and better and funnier. Leftists, you are too political to be funny or personable!
Harper continues to give me bad vibes that I can't put my finger on...
I understand what you’re talking about but there is some truth to that. I mean there aren’t really major or well known online leftist influencers that are part of the right wing dominated space. I mean I could also be wrong which also happens a lot
Because “influencing” is a grift. There is plenty of money out there for “influencers” who provide cover for the failures of capitalism. There is virtually no money out there for those who want to expose the fact that capitalism is a pyramid scheme ruining the entire planet. In fact, there is more money out there to squash any decent than there is to speak the truth.
indeed. Can't get in the headspace of watching influencers. Obviousely there are things I'd like to hear, from a figurehead, but what comes up is windy, often baggage-y. My last youtube celeb was a young guy who made zip-guns.
I found this presentation to be intelligent and convincing, but I kept expecting to hear something like "Just send me $59.00 for the fully developed playbook and personal advice."
Something to keep in mind is that media tools are run by far right politics. We are also aware that we won’t be able to use this tools for revolution, this tools are in place to uphold capitalism. What is the point of having the same network if the politics are lacking. I do agree with the lack of motivation I feel like sometimes we get caught up in purity politics and give up.
When you are deep into organization you realize that there is a network rising in place. There is breakthrough news, the PSL is actually implementing a network to get connected, yes we don’t have the resources of the right but we do have people committed with their time, labor and little resources they have. This venues still get shadow ban too. I would argue I have met tons of creators and been exposed to leaders and knowledge that without organizing I wouldn’t know about.

I watched the whole video, I found it lacking.

That’s true

Maybe in the next installment?
