As title really. The Echo Mini is cool, but it feels a bit too lightweight and toy like. Much like flash modding and iPod, removing weight can make a device feel cheap.
I'm tempted to crack it open and jam some blutac or something in there. I've seen some pictures of an open one and there's some room around the battery and possibly all across the back plate in a thin layer.
Anyone done anything to add some weight to one?
SMH. It's weight is a feature to me, not a bug.
You do you, it's nice to be able to actually modify (or not) a device as we want.
I meant no disrespect. When I saw this I really did scratch my head though. The EM is the lightest dap I have ever owned and it’s why I love it. But I hear you, and we all use our gear as we see fit. I hope you succeed in your endeavor to make it feel as heavy as you like :)
The 'leather' case is a nice addition
edit for missing word
If you filled it with solid gold it would be really premium feeling
Someone will claim that some how improves the sound to! Lol
Never tried, but I agree that it would feel more premium with a little more hefty to it.
To me it doesn't weigh as much as I think it looks like it should. I might just have a play.
I’ve added weight to flash modded iPods with lead which could work. You could look at lead tape for golf clubs. Weirdly I don’t mind the Echo Mini being lighter. The leather case helps it to feel more premium though.
Does it make the buttons hard to use?
It does not.
Lead tape or wheel weights concern me as they are metal. Do you cover in tape or anything to stop shorts?
Yeah, I use kapton tape for that kind of thing.
Try putting a bigger battery in it.
Has anyone found one that works yet?
Naw.
