So the recipe calls for halved garlic bulbs and onions to elevate the turkey breast so it doesn't poach in the juices and add flavour to the gravy. I cannot have onions. Are leeks or shallots a good alternatives for a low FODMAP diet? TIA 😊

Carrots and celery stalks will elevate and add flavour.
Thank you, that's great help 😊
Aluminum foil crushed into balls at the bottom works as well.
I've heard about that. Wouldn't it make the juices taste metallic?
No
Isn't garlic also something to avoid since it's similar to onion?
I, fortunately, don't get sick from eating garlic (I would seriously cry lol). Onions and tomatos on the other hand completely wreck my intestines >w<
Apples, carrots, celery, shallots,
Oh, nice! Thank you 😊
Shallots are a type of onion, so be careful
Yup probably going to use carrots and celery, and onion salt for the flavour. Thank you for the warning though 👍😊
Bit of white wine poured over the bird around 2/3rds of the cooking time makes wonderful gravy too.
Yum, definitely will use that tip 🤤
Worth it....😀
Better yet, soak cheese cloth in wine and drape over the bird.
Nice
