    Not enough Boston posted here

There's just not much sticking out. I love the skyline, but a couple taller buildings would do wonders for the aesthetic. Since SF got it's supertall, it has a complely new identity, and the new blends great with the old

the proximity to the airport is one of the main reasons there are no super tall buildings in Boston, so unfortunately I do not think there will ever be any :(

Never say never. At aome point airplane technology will change, and we may not need as many height restrictions in the future. Hopes for an evolving future

Height restrictions were recently raised for downtown, I believe.

As a former Mass. resident, I just love that skyline. It's awesome.

I love how visible the north end is. The wing blocks out some other great buildings.

Boston is unique, I swore it’s like a mini Sydney Australia based on that harbour

What're the hills in the background?

    parent
    3 points NasiLemak534

The Blue Hills. Massachusetts gets its name from them.

    It's just so painfully flat

    parent
    10 points mattythegee

From this angle yes. Ground level though it’s honestly an incredibly well layered city with a lot elevation variation

    parent root

Guess we have different definitions of elevation variation

You've never been here so keep quiet.

    parent root

Why on earth would that be “painful” for you? It’s the 3rd most densely populated city in the US, there are plenty of high rises.

Lol its an expression. And flat refers to land.

I take it you've never been to the area? The city is not only completely surrounded by hills, but half the land (such as the Back Bay) is fill from the larger hills that used to be part of the peninsula. There's still a bunch of neighborhoods named after hills, with hills within (Beacon Hill, Mission Hill, Bunker Hill in Charlestown, Savin Hill, etc.). I actually climb the local hills and have exceeded half a mile in cumulative elevation gain every single week for the past 22 months. Between road hills and hiking there's tons of options available.

Then you should know better. There's hills within 15 miles of downtown Boston that far exceed the highest point in the entire state of Florida. If the hills of Boston proper weren't completely scoured to create land for half the city, it would still resemble this:

Lol oh ok. Thanks for the lecture

Is Florida the only state available for comparison? I live in the bay area, surrounded by real hills and mountains.

Moved away for a few reasons, weather being one and the overly defensive and rude people being another

    Edit: being one

You live in literally the hilliest city in the country. Is that the only city available for comparison? For reference, the 2nd hilliest city in the country is Fitchburg, Massachusetts. When I'm standing at the tops of 30 different hills surrounding downtown all I can think of is how painfully flat it all is.
