i’m running through a survival game as a thief (not doing the main quest so no shouts or dragons to deal with) and as soon as i was able to i went and picked this up. it was a lot of fun having to travel skyrim on foot to get the pieces
This heavily depends. Are we counting crafted items, or purely lore based named ones. If it's crafted, it would be a daedric bow, Enchanted with fiery soul trap and absorb health. If it's named items, it's likely the Sanguine Rose, although Windshear is a must have on just about any DB playthrough. But no, I think it's the Rose, it's just too useful. Having a summonable daedric companion is just too useful.
Then yeah, it's gotta be the Sanguine Rose. It's an amazing quest, and the reward is a must have on just about every run. Who can't use a little backup now and again?
There was some mod I had where you kill a family of trolls north of Rorikstead in the nearest hills (long before the giant's camp). The reward was a 2-H warhammer that swung 3 times as slow as the slowest weapon in the game, but sent every enemy (except giant sized) flying. You could get swarmed and launch opponents away, it was epic
My most used? Yeah... Sadly, that would be a Spell Tome of Flames. I do use a ton of spells, but Flames tends to be my go-to spell for the early game. If I were allowed to pick? It would be Chain Lightning or my absolute favorite Lightning Storm!
After modding to tweak the viability of mana cost and throw damage, I now use Telekinesis in every single fight, usually to bring enemies to my blade, disrupt their spells attacks, throw stuff at them or throw them off a cliff. Sometimes with scorching hands so I'm just summoning the enemy, melting their face off and firing them back at their friends. Enchanted ebony war axe is probably my most used weapon. Or glass sword of absorb health
after finishing for three times, and hearing about "those illusion spells", I tried to play as mage using only illusion spells.
boy, that's really hard. frenzy work if there's more than one foe, but if it's alone... i've not learned yet what spells (castable!) to learn in order to play only through illusion magic.
maybe i will try again, in vanilla game...
(I don't remember what save was that one, and if I started it in one modded profiles or not! 🤔)
Nerveshatter. Best two handed weapon, in my humble opinion, especially when wielded by an orc in heavy armour who’s necked a couple of enhance two hands and heavy armour potions. Elder dragons? Pah, I shit ‘em.
Definitely one of the elemental staves. Even after it loses charge, I can still use it as a plain ol’ bo staff or something. Maybe just a walking stick I dunno
Odds are a bound sword spelltome. Until I get my smithing up to daedric, I tend to just rely on it and whatever the best dagger i can smith up at the time is for dual wielding damage
Good question because I normally end up smithing and enchanting something better.
Let's see, probably Dragonsbane for that nice extra damage versus Dragons and for the sweet katana-esque cool factor. Or the Dawnguard Rune axe. They do decent damage as is and are great for fighting undead in general, not just vampires.
Im just a bit over level 50 in my play through now and I've legit been using a scimitar since like level 20. It has no enhancements or anything I just improve it as my smithing increases and its honestly been great! And besides I just love the way the CuRvEd SwOrD looks
Having a durable piece of armor that muffles your movements, cloaks you in darkness and does poison damage when you’re fighting someone would be the most helpful in a modern battlefield imo
A random weapon? Or an artefact?
If it’s an artefact, mehrunes razor would be mine. But any weapon, I think a bow, maybe a glass bow, or ebony, though a dragonbone bow would be wicked
idk, really!
because it looks like I relied too much on my own crafted weapons, enchanted with absorb health/stamina and fire spells, and almost never used the named weapons... maybe Molag Bal's mace, for his absorb soul enchant...
I tend to move through the bow tiers while i do the thieves guild stuff pretty early on. So for me it's gotta be the nightingale bow... is pretty much standard equipment for me throughout the game.
A crossbow from the dawnguard DLC. Let's make it a dwarven crossbow which I think someone added with the mod it just makes it so that better materials make better weapons like the rest of weapons in the game. Of course enchanted to do some sort of elemental damage probably shock and Fire, or in keeping with the Skyrim theme shock and frost. A little bit of thunder snow there.
A daedric bow, which is pretty much just a really impractical (but cool looking) long bow. So I guess I have a cool shelf piece now, but I don't think I could really use it.
I don't know what weapon that would be its either dawnbreaker as in my first playthrough I got the beacon in the first dungeon and decided to do the quest right away I also got it twice through a bug cause I could pick one up from the necromancer and one from the pedestal or it's the deadric sword
Wabbajack
My first thought. The next person to wrong me is either being disintegrated or turned into a chicken 🐓
I turned Grelod into a sweet roll
Wait did the kids start cheering or was she even dead? Did you eat her XDDDDD
Those early game dragons stand absolutely no chance!
I love that. I really need to use mine more.
Does it work on every mob?
Yes
I saved it but never messed around with it, after seeing all the stuff here about it i definitely will be
Always the wabbajack
Errors are my downfall 😔 even if try to proof read i always miss something. Sigh.
Hey man, don't worry about it. Everybody gets what you're sayin'. 👍🏼 *Dawnbreaker by the way.

mehrune’s razor? hell yes
I have this stealth fire mage build that wields this in one hand. Man I love it when I can one hit with it. I think it is the best weapon for a sneak.
i’m running through a survival game as a thief (not doing the main quest so no shouts or dragons to deal with) and as soon as i was able to i went and picked this up. it was a lot of fun having to travel skyrim on foot to get the pieces
Sweetroll. Death by diabeetus!
Oh damn. I thought they meant what we use in the game, not real life. It’s the diabetus for sure for me too
This heavily depends. Are we counting crafted items, or purely lore based named ones. If it's crafted, it would be a daedric bow, Enchanted with fiery soul trap and absorb health. Having a summonable daedric companion is just too useful.
I will say none crafted. Sorry.
Then yeah, it's gotta be the Sanguine Rose. It's an amazing quest, and the reward is a must have on just about every run. Who can't use a little backup now and again?
Exactly. I smell weakness …
A CHALLENGER HAS APPEARED
Gonna make dremora kynreeve hang out with me and be my friend
I chose the exact same enchantments for my crossbow 'The Nailgun'!
In real life, you would use a soul trap weapon?
The question was "most used weapon."
Probably honestly an iron dagger...or a book of magic...
Or a steel sword
Or my elven bow
Or my Daedric War Axe!
and thus begins the fellowship of Meridia's beacon
or my dwarven axe
Molag’s mace.
Who wouldn’t want a badass shapeshifting mace that sends its victims to eternal damnation?
Not just damnation, I can trap their souls in some of these shiny pebbles I've got laying around.
Actual warcrime of a weapon to have
Bloodskaal Blade wrecks

Volenruung (like the tomb), one of my faveourite hammers

The Ebony Blade welp guess im fucked
Umm I’m getting a pair of steel gauntlets, enchanted with +50 unarmed damage. Guess I need to learn how to throw hands
My fork that paralyzes you for 8 months
Chillrend or Windshear
Nerveshatter. Best two handed weapon, in my humble opinion, especially when wielded by an orc in heavy armour who’s necked a couple of enhance two hands and heavy armour potions. Elder dragons? Pah, I shit ‘em.
I have a wooden spoon!
I-I-I wanna be a Skyrim player!
The Ebony Blade….
Staff of Worms.
Oh man, you could get a religion started lickety-split with that one.
The heavens opens and a thousand angle sing as a single iron fork decends from the sky
How am I the only dude here looking for Dragonbane?? That sword is sick.
You're not alone. I would also receive Dragonbane. Very useful.
Valdr's Lucky Dagger, I guess the luck(25% crit possibility) applies to other aspects
Bound bow. I guess I'm taking up archery. It'll be good for me.
Dawn breaker for me tbh or maybe Volendrung the massive spike hammer you get from that orc quest near South of the 7k steps
Bolar's Oath Blade. A katana worthy of a true Samurai, which sadly I am not. Until such a (wo)man shows themselves, I shall keep the blade safe
Bow of shadows
Bow of shadows. Fuck yea.
Skull of corruption atm
Miraak's Sword because I always rush to get that Tentacle sword, didn't even know it was a leveled weapon since you can improve it anyway
Pre Dragonborn DLC it was the Nightingale Blade.
In my two-handed playthroughs it was Steel Greatsword /Skyforge Steel Greatsword
If we count magic then the Bound sword is the winner for me.
Fists. I- i don't think I wanna use it as a decoration.
Fireball
I usually just craft my own overpowered bone weapons.
Wabbajack. Hell yeah.
Dwarven Black Bow of Fate
The longhammer.
Sanguine Rose - I love summoning daedra to fight for me, it's fun watching them yell at things too
Would use conjuration spells but it's just easier using the rose... You don't have to find the dead daedra body to reanimate it lol
There's be holding the mighty Dawnbreaker, facing a horde of the undead. At my back, a fortified town and a line of 100 guardsmen.
Each undead that falls, is one less that the guards will have to face.
I charge in and strike the first Draugr. It explodes in light, incinerating other Draugr.
The guardsmen behind me feel a slight sting from the explosion, as well.
...
I had to massacre the guards.
Volendrung, baby!
Big hammer go whack!
Rahd’s Longhammer
Bow of Shadows
Volendrung.
Volendrung. Least conspicuous weapon ever.
https://preview.redd.it/w5iatm5airag1.png?width=1500&format=png&auto=webp&s=1ddb0971abe31243898cf0dfb105c6a80539250c
I don't care that the cc quest sucks anytime I'm doing a 2 handed play through I'm getting nerveshatter
Definitely one of the elemental staves. Even after it loses charge, I can still use it as a plain ol’ bo staff or something. Maybe just a walking stick I dunno
Cephiro arch
Nightingale Blade
The cross bow. It’s absolutely lethal.
Enchanted tomato.
Fucking pisses me off because my friends are all Skyrim friends and I’m always the fastest to know. I never okie what is happening. I hate it.
Ebony blade
Enhanced dwarven crossbow with soul trap and dwarven bolts
Bound Sword. I can't use it because I don't have Magicka. :(
Bound bow tome?
An enhanced elven crossbow.
Odds are a bound sword spelltome. Until I get my smithing up to daedric, I tend to just rely on it and whatever the best dagger i can smith up at the time is for dual wielding damage
I’d honestly have to go with Torment
Is Barbas a weapon? No? Dawnbreaker, then.
The mace of molag baal is really the only one I ever use because shortly after I get it I’ll be crafting things much better anyway
Umbra would be my pick. Love that Greatsword
Ebony War Axe and Spellbreaker, every single time
Good question because I normally end up smithing and enchanting something better.
Let's see, probably Dragonsbane for that nice extra damage versus Dragons and for the sweet katana-esque cool factor. Or the Dawnguard Rune axe. They do decent damage as is and are great for fighting undead in general, not just vampires.
Inkpot, stone, bucket, book, knife
Ebony blade unfortunately...
Wheels of cheese...
Blade of Woe or elven bow, one of the two.
Mace of Molag !
Dragonbone Warhammer with Frost enchantment
Aw, none crafted? Then I guess a badass Daedric Greatsword powered by Nazeem's suffering
I would say a dragon bone bow, to silently sneak up on my foes from a big distance and strike them down, without ever giving away my position
My Instakill Crossbow, loaded with explosive bolts, and fiery soul trap and health absorption. I named it the Nailgun.
Dragon bow enchanted with soul trap and absorb health or mahrunes razor/luckys dagger
Fire ball so I blow up
Im just a bit over level 50 in my play through now and I've legit been using a scimitar since like level 20. It has no enhancements or anything I just improve it as my smithing increases and its honestly been great! And besides I just love the way the CuRvEd SwOrD looks
Ysgramor’s soup spoon
Probably wabbajack
Cabbage.
Silver sword or rune axe because I like their shape and style, or Chillrend.
I think that dagger that occasionally 1 shots people, i forgot the name >.<
My elven bow of life drain. It's damage is in the trillions and it siphons more than 4000 life points per second.
Fork
windshear because... CURVED sword that will win me any fight even against highly defended opponents
The dragon bone bow I made, it does 899 damage per hit and I have a Drain Health enchantment that drains 118 points of life.
AE, with no mood, only exploits.
Windshear and dragon scale shield.
Zypher, with slow time. They're dead before they know what death is.
It's a home-made glass bow with soultrap and fire enchantments on it.
I have very rarely ever used any of the unique weapons in the game, because the'yre all vastly inferior.
I always used to snag Bolars Oathblade. Katanaa fun
Mace of molag bal 😈 let's goooo
Bloodscythe & Soul Syphon
This time around? A shiv.
Shanty is all about the up close and personal and most of her carryweight is taken up with poisons.
The ebony mail
Having a durable piece of armor that muffles your movements, cloaks you in darkness and does poison damage when you’re fighting someone would be the most helpful in a modern battlefield imo
Plot armour
A random weapon? Or an artefact? If it’s an artefact, mehrunes razor would be mine. But any weapon, I think a bow, maybe a glass bow, or ebony, though a dragonbone bow would be wicked
The Ruefuel axe.
A Dragonbone Sword enchanted with Chaos Damage + Absorb Health.
Just my fire hands.
Iron war axe, hunting bow, woodcutters axe, or vadirs lucky dagger
I’d like a nettlebane.
Wuuthrad
Definitely Dawnbreaker, closely followed by Wabbajack
Dwemer crossbow, the improved one.
Aemers Dwarven Greatsword - Which I enchanted and named SoulRend
idk, really! because it looks like I relied too much on my own crafted weapons, enchanted with absorb health/stamina and fire spells, and almost never used the named weapons... maybe Molag Bal's mace, for his absorb soul enchant...
This is obviously a sheogorath post. We never get to "choose" the weapon.
The mass of molakbaal
The Mace of Molag Bal (don't ask)
A daedric bow definitely
I tend to move through the bow tiers while i do the thieves guild stuff pretty early on. So for me it's gotta be the nightingale bow... is pretty much standard equipment for me throughout the game.
My wooden toy sword of eternal paralysis. Or at least For 20959347 seconds
Nerveshatter is my current characters favorite toy
https://preview.redd.it/f1x3tujasqag1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c72dbf24d018c24460717d2f0992f796e5c15ce3
An enchanted Blades samurai style sword enchanted with paralyze and fire
Staff of worms
Bloodskal blade 100%
Bow of shadows
Steel Warhammer
A crossbow from the dawnguard DLC. Let's make it a dwarven crossbow which I think someone added with the mod it just makes it so that better materials make better weapons like the rest of weapons in the game. Of course enchanted to do some sort of elemental damage probably shock and Fire, or in keeping with the Skyrim theme shock and frost. A little bit of thunder snow there.
Miraak's Sword for me.
Mehrunes Razor was always my dagger of choice especially if im doing an assassin play through
Incinerate.
More than all? Lowkey, a wooden bow and/or hide shield lol
If we're saying artifacts only, then probably the staff of jyrik gauldurson.
I play mage the most so i never really have legendary weapons 😅
Wabbajack
The Bow of Shadows.
DAWNSTAR!!
Wuuthrad, glory to Ysmir and glory to the true high king of the Nords
Gotta be Auriel's Bow with Bloodcursed Elven Arrows.
Light of Day- I prefer the mace aesthetic to a sword aesthetic.
Dragonbane. I grab it and use it in every playthrough, even if it’s not my main weapon I put it in my left hand to dual wield.
The Glass Axe (I'm still on my first run)
A NEW HAND TOUCHES THE BEACON
Thanks to a glitch, I have two Dawnbreakers! Duel wielding has never looked so good!
Daedric Dagger
A fine ebony bow lol... It's my first playthrough and I've been using one for many many hours
Elven dagger of blizzards (legendary)
My go to weapon(s) dawnbreaker, until get high enough in smiting, then I’ll switch to a deadric or dragon bone mace or war axe.
From my feet, a sickly green glow emits. I extend my hand and grip the handle as Molag Bal's voice enter my mind. Time to slay.
A daedric bow, which is pretty much just a really impractical (but cool looking) long bow. So I guess I have a cool shelf piece now, but I don't think I could really use it.
A Blades Sword
Sanguine rose but I’d love to know if anyone has watched Shoresy because I call mine Sanguinet
The Longhammer!
Staff of Magnus.
Lore wise it's basically the most powerful weapon on Nirn. Too bad it's useless after the college quests without mods.
No i refuse im not grabbing that beacon
Its worth the couple grand and fighting for the coolest thing to enter a drauger burrow
Restoration glitched shiv
The Steel BattleAxe of Fiery Souls
Nerveshatter or enhanced crossbow
Dragonbane. Because I'm a weaboo.
Sanguine Rose
Probably Wuthraad
Miraak’s Sword.
Champion's Cudgel comes flying at me like Mjolnir
Most likely a double enchanted ebony bow with ice and lightning damage glitches out to high hrothgar
Steel mace (of burning)
Zephyr or Auriel's bow.
One-handed Madness Sword with Soul reaping and Chaos enchantments.
Bow of Shadows
It’s chillrend bro
Mehrunes Razor for me
Daedric Maces
Black blade… sorry mom
Silver sword
Either Umbra, or the Ebony Blade. Dark weapons ftw
Wuthrad
I don't know what weapon that would be its either dawnbreaker as in my first playthrough I got the beacon in the first dungeon and decided to do the quest right away I also got it twice through a bug cause I could pick one up from the necromancer and one from the pedestal or it's the deadric sword
The bloodskaal blade
I’ve used the Blade of Woe more than any other weapon.
