That is what that means yes I know. And I have it in my life. I feel it for someone close to me and she feels it back, we know what it means. Either of us could do horrible things but we won't turn our backs, just do what we can to help each other out that's unconditional love. I know it's real because it's had to happen before
You like someone for who they are rather than who they try to be. Its easier to find it when you can be yourself with confidence and meet people who both understand and appreciate you. But if you are afraid to be yourself because you are too worried about being wanted, then you will never be able to discover where you should really be.

It's something like the tooth fairy or Santa Claus, used to dangle in front of children of emotionally immature parents and by narcissistic partners for the sole purpose of keeping you on the hook "if only you were a good kid or partner-object you could have everything you want"

Unconditional love is loving somebody so much for who they were that you keep loving them regardless of who they are or will be.
Like when a person gets Alzheimer's and can't remember their partner, but their partner still loves them and takes care of them
