Dunno how it looks in your country, but here in UK monetized videos are being deliberetly loaded slowly with a pop-up saying how adblocks might be interfering with sites functioning. Very subtle...
You can use the YouTube music webapp to skip the slowdowns btw. Videos will be drastically lower quality, but if you are just listening to music anyways, the web app is the better place to be anyways.

Like I said you can use any Android based device you can plug into your TV, even an old laptop. And if your TV is android based you don't even need anything else
But if you don't have that then yeah, a one time $30 payment to own a device to never see adds again and see every movie and TV show is a way better deal than paying that $30/month for various subscribtion services
I do this, but ever since switching to Firefox, YouTube gets incredibly laggy unless I close and restart it every day or so. (I usually just keep my YT tab open for weeks).

You can try the DuckDuckGo app. It has its own video player which blocks adds. (Technically it's only supposed to reduce them but I haven't seen a single one.) It's probably the simplest solution.

No it isn't. It would be worth it if it stopped the sale of your data if you had the subscription. But just getting rid of ads they play while they continue selling your data means you're still getting boned.

Try just using the brave browser, all ads on pretty much any site are blocked at base
And if your phone allows for a private DNS you should definitely set one up to block ads.
