I have a pkg file for bloodborne and i really want to play it on my steam deck. I already have shadps4 v0.13, i just need a way to turn the pkg file for the base game and update into an elf file that shadps4 can recognize and emulate through. I tried using old versions of shadps4 when you could install pkg packages right on Shadps4 - like v0.3,v0.5,v0.6, and v0.7 - but each time i try to extract the pkg it just crashes and freezes and doesn’t even give me a loading bar. Any help is appreciated. I am a big soulslike fan and have not been able to play bloodborne
Use an older version of shadPS4 to extract the PKG file. It doesn't have to be an elf file.
i’ve tried that for a bunch of the old versions, but for some reason, it just crashes every time I try to extract the PKG
Extract the file using a windows pc and then transfer the extracted folder to steamdeck
I guess i’ll have to get a dock and some usbs- thank you. Are you not able to extract on steamdeck software?
You should be able to but linux can have issues so windows would be preferred if you have issue all you need is a pc does not need to be gaming or anything special
I have a pretty good laptop. The inspiron 24 2 and 1. Hopefully that’s good enough

Try the PKG extractor through BBlauncher. It can also have issues, but running the extraction process again usually will succeed

Oh wait, idk what an elf file is, but you can still give it a try and see if that works for you
I don’t really know what an elf file is either. It’s just what the current shadps4 says it’s looking for when you go to boot up a game instead of looking for a PKG file says, select an elf file
