I ordered a designer lehenga from india and the blouse has some fit issues so im trying to figure out if it is salvagable or if I need to start over with a new blouse.

One obvious issue is that the sleeves need more ease which i should be able to alter myself. but I think they also may have cut the sleeves off grain...is that what could be causing the twisting (see photos)? The material is raw silk btw

I'll of course be reaching out to the designer but wanted some thoughts from the sewing community.

  • Cutting on bias can be a design choice for the slight ease when something is slim fit.

In my opinion it looks like the sleeve cap height is missing.

  • I had a similar twisting in a sleeve lately. The problem was that I put it in slightly twisted. I accidentally aligned the shoulder marking of the sleeve with the lowered down shoulder seam instead of the actual shoulder. Taking it apart and putting it in again fixed it. Not sure how you would verify that in your garment.
