I hate the cold but I’m surprisingly happy this year as it finally gives me an excuse to wear this coat out!
This is the first(and only) coat I’ve ever made, the pattern is the Princess coat by Gertie/Charm Patterns. I love her patterns as they’re so detailed I didn’t have to look elsewhere for help, highly recommend! I can’t remember the name of the company I bought the fabric from as it was from a sewing convention but it’s a boiled wool. The polka dot lining is from Cloth Control on Etsy and the buttons are from Hobbycraft.
I’ve learnt a lot since I finished this coat and considering the wear I’m currently getting out of it, I want to make another one!

I haven't successfully sewn anything with a complicated fit like this. Did you have to make any adjustments to the pattern? And if so, did the pattern include information about that?

The pattern is really in depth with the steps and before the instructions even start there are several pages explaining fit issues and alterations. I had to combine two sizes as my bust and waist measurements matched difference sizes but it was really easy to alter!

Why is it called a princess coat?
Likely because it uses princess seams to shape the bodice. It's hard to see that in the photo, but on the pattern website you can tell.
