UK and Germany is the armpit of immigration, since it’s closer to Eastern Europe , Russia and the Middle East and cheaper to relocate you are more likely to meet not the best examples of immigrants. A Turkish person you will meet in USA,Australia, China or even Dubai is gonna be totally different but unless you are in the same tax bracket you wouldn’t just magically run into them, you also wouldn’t recognize them in public either because they just blend in.
Also you need to understand that not every person from Turkey is Turkish , there are Kurdish , Romanians and Armenians in Turkey that live in the eastern region and are from smaller towns and have darker complexion than most people and they all have different thoughts and ideas about nationalism. They speak different languages and have different beliefs, less exposure to education and closed off family values. ( the PKK Kurdish militant group had a big effect on east regions of Turkey not developing because of the constant terrorism and killing and attacking of Turks for many years, the horror and instability made it hard for investment and infrastructure) Even if they brought to Istanbul as a small child they are still far left behind and not as established because of their families financial situation and the customs they believe in from the region they came from. Most of them will tell you they are from Istanbul but a real Istanbulite is rare nowadays because it’s like New York there , super cosmopolitan and very diverse.
You complain about them not knowing English most of them don’t even speak good Turkish which hinders their life progression a lot in Turkey… Unfortunately not everyone has equal lifestyle and sophistication but this also applies to any country.
Obviously whoever is doing well in Turkey and have a good life ( educated, well traveled, open minded , has good English) is not gonna move overseas and act slow and disoriented and work dead end jobs so you are dealing with the ones who also weren’t doing well in Turkey for obvious reasons.
When it comes to Syrian Immigration, during the war a lot of them came illegally to Turkey jumping from the border some of them had criminal backgrounds in Syria and they continued to commit these crimes in Turkey while educated and effluent Syrians took off to USA , Canada or even Scandinavian countries…. Look what USA is doing to the illegal immigrants , masked and armed officials dragging them into vans and arresting them basically making them disappear overnight, sometimes they even shoot them even in front of their families. In order for Turkish ppl to be as racist as you say similar practices would happen in Turkey but guess what they get free education and healthcare also bunch of other help from the government thanks to Turkish taxpayers . The economy is already bad in Turkey and nobody signed up for taking care of millions of immigrants that came illegally. Also bunch of crime in the beginning unfortunately made Syrians get disliked from get-go but honestly this was more like 7 years ago.
The EU has an agreement with Erdogan that immigrants who are not adjusting well in Europe will be sent to Turkey which also creates frustration and anger in general public so it is not race related but more like political distress thanks to Erdogan. I do agree that Turks can be racist but personally I've seen it more towards black people. From what I've heard from Turks, they do have a tendency to dislike Syrian refugees but this is mainly because there's quite a lot of them in Turkey and there is a growing fear that they are changing Turkish culture into Arabian culture which tends to be more Islamic (i.e. the encouragement of women to wear hijabs which is not as much the case in Turkish culture, contrary to popular belief)
The Syrian refugees have also been associated with growing Erdoğan's political influence as he tries to stray away from European ideals into more Islamic values which Syrians already have so if he brings them into the fold via citizenship then they will just help him even more which most Turks don't want.
In general Turks can be absolute dicks though I agree. But I think you picked the worst example with Syrian refugees because there is some cause for concern there if they can't integrate properly and negatively affect Turkish culture
