A national event to encourage kids to be more active is a good thing, but this was just another way to demonize a marginalized community and rile up his transphobic supporters. Why does everything this administration says or does have to have a little bit of unadulterated hate mixed in?
You can’t say that with certainty for every unfit child though. More opportunities and sponsored events means more interest. Who knows what types of events will encourage unfit kids? If all public and private schools feed into a tiered system, it is likely that many unfit kids would participate and that could lead them to continue.
