At twilight I saw multiple dogs offleash in glen canyon while a coyote was actively making rounds....even some people approaching it, letting their small kids too close and barking back at it...do not do this!!

There are signs about coyotes at every entrance and hiw to avoid them. Of course one guy's dog was offleash long enough the coyote aporoached it....screaming at his dog incoherently trying to get it away from the coyote, which luckily worked eventually. The guys dog did not seem to not even have basic recall ability, but then again the owner didnt give it basic commands and was clearly panicked.

You are endangering everyone by having your dogs offleash in natural habitats. Its dangerous to the coyote (and other wildlife), to your pet (and other pets), and to people who then come into more contact with them, including children. If dude is reading this, I hope you learned your lesson and Im glad your dog survived.

Yall are out of your minds though letting your untrained dog offleash at prime hunting time in a known coyote habitat. Please just use a leash, its not hard.
