Hello fellow 40+! What kind of music are you looking for? I'm DJing at Phonobar tonight with another DJ, Elz. It has a small dancefloor, and I suspect it might be on the slower side due to the holidays, so you could have lots of space to dance and hang out if you have a group. We will be playing a mix of disco, funk, 80s, italo, global grooves, some house and maybe indie dance. We don't really play a lot of millennial throwback jams, unfortunately, if that is more what you are looking for, but cover is free and the drinks are good (lots of N/A options too). We start playing at 9pm, and the disco ball comes on at 10pm after dinner. Maybe see you there?
This sounds super fun! Love all of this. I love throwbacks too but I’ll dance to anything. Thanks! Are you doing a regular gig there? I might go to Mac’s tonight.
As with most clubs here, the majority are in their 20s but Raven Bar is always a good time and has a range of patrons (some have even been in their 70s). The music is mostly 90s and 2000s (two floors).
Sorry you feel this way. Hoping this is sarcasm. My fiends and I are just looking to have fun. This doesn’t stop at 40. Or perhaps in your case it’s already stopped? We are all married and not looking to creep on anyone - just dance the craziness of the world away.
“…Hooper was no romantic. He had not as a child ridden with Rupert’s horse or sat among the camp fires at Xanthus-side; at the age when my eyes were dry to all save poetry—that stoic, red-skin interlude which our schools introduce between the fast flowing tears of the child and the man—Hooper had wept often, but never for Henry’s speech on St. Crispin’s Day, nor for the epitaph at Thermopylae. The history they taught him had had few battles in it but, instead, a profusion of detail about humane legislation and recent industrial change. Gallipoli, Balaclava, Quebec, Lepanto, Bannockburn, Roncevales, and Marathon—these, and the Battle in the West where Arthur fell, and a hundred such names whose trumpet-notes, even now in my sere and lawless state, called to me irresistibly across the intervening years with all the clarity and strength of boyhood, sounded in vain to Hooper. He seldom complained.”

I play the third Thursday's there, and some other random dates. I'll be there NYE also.
Can't vouch for this person and their music but can vouch for Phonobar, it's a nice chill spot and not super scene-y.
Cat Club is having a Disco and new wave night tonight
+1, Cat Club is a skews older and is a great vibe
I think it’s creepy when a bunch of 20 year olds walk into Cat Club.
It’s me, I’m the 28 year old problem walking into Cat Club 😭 but it’s because I inherited my dad’s music taste lol
Music choice would help with this decision
This website aggregates all the venues with electronic music shows for every day https://19hz.info/eventlisting_BayArea.php
This! check out to find the type of music you like most and go!

Good to know. We saw that and I was wondering if it was a good vibe
It’s well managed, safe environment (though make sure to secure your phone as with any club), and drinks are good.
Raven bar is full with Asians lol
😂 dog I’m Asian… I’m just saying why you getting butt hurt
Ever heard of internalized racism? Think on it.
You’re talking out your ahhh right now. Nothing I said was racist. 😂👍🏽
Jerry’s Middle Finger at Great American!! Gonna be the jam a just your age group.
Sorry but it feels creepy when’s bunch of 40 year olds walk into A club
Ridiculous. Public Works, The Great Northern and the Midway are filled with people 40 and older and it’s chill.
Maybe you should check your attitude
Ya I don't think this person actually goes to clubs in SF. People 40 or older are very common
Not in SF lol the oldies party harder here!
The broccoli heads are useless yall just stand around awkwardly and stare like NPCs
Trust me, we feel similarly when we are out with younger people.

Nah it feels creepy when you have a judgemental person in a club caring about other people's age.
Do you always have a bone to pick with everything or have you had a rough day?
Oh you must be young, the Xlennials are keeping the vibe alive in SF, kids don't know how to party these days.
