They still have generator trucks outside of the substation on 24th and Balboa as of a couple days ago, so whatever broke there is still broken. Edit: Generators still there as of 4:30pm on 12/27
That is probably not affecting Sunset in this outage, though.
PGE managers looked at the vote count on the board of supes and said, "how can we make sure two more city supervisors can be convinced to vote for eminent domain takeover of our infrastructure? I know, random mid afternoon blackout for their constituents."
It's like I'm being radicalized for publicly owned utilities in real time. (5th and Judah)
They will now ask the PUC for a rate increase to replace antiquated equipment in that area. You know, like they did when they weren’t maintaining powerlines east of Santa Rosa, Paradise and maintaining natural gas lines in San Bruno.
PG&E is guilty but they're only half the problem here. PG&E won't do shit in SF because any attempt to meaningfully modernize equipment will be stopped, banned and cut off by NIMBYs that don't want their historic wooden power poles taken away for brutalist concrete or metal ones. The City govt won't allow any meaningful PG&E construction, just look at the huge pain in the ass it was for Caltrain to electrify and they already owned all the property.
If you want change you have to literally demand bigger, taller, beefier power poles on your own street. This is the only way anything is gonna get fixed.
Ummm, i absolutely want the wooden power poles in the Mission replaced. Apparently we can’t have Sonic internet on our block until that happens so yes please!

GGP during all these outages:
Damn. Alot of the same area that just went out last week. Hopefully it's one of those turn off turn on again type deals.
PGE rep told me they intentionally turned off the power to fix something.

This is pretty funny in a twisted way, just when the rotten food is thrown out and the fridge is re-stocked
Reliable as always

Hopefully we get that
Same time next week?
This is why we need to reopen great highway /s
lol
Sunset’s already starting a recall campaign
they need a hobby
We would have hobbies if we could drive along the great highway again dammit /s
Love that they are blaming “a storm” when power went down at 11:20am this morning and it’s clear and sunny out 🙄
As of now the estimated time of restoration is 3:45pm too!

PG&E is seriously the worst
Looks like we're getting another credit.

So you’re telling me PG&E can’t withstand a lil 30 mph wind? Pathetic garbage company. Incoming “ 30% keep our executives cock wet” fee smfh
Extra wet 💧
Isn’t that holiday light show at the conservatory going on? Is that blacked out too? Sorry to everyone dealing with a dark Christmas.
I heard they are running on generators so it happens no matter what
Aren't they doing the generator swap today? Not shocking that it would have blown something south side when the substation came back online.
Stupid and problematic because they're a terrible fucking company that never does maintenance, but not shocking.
I haven't found anywhere to track what's going on with that, do you have a source?
Not a good one, people in one of the threads on it said that's why the pge crew was saying, but that was a few days ago.
just missed my building on judah lol... im sweating for sure.
Have they tried turning it off and on again?
This sucks because my house is in this giant red cube the size of central park. Oh wait, nobody lives in a residential home in the park.
Pwned again, lmfao.

Wrong
Pretty sure the whole city is trying to underground power lines. If it wasn’t for PGE, it would have been done already.
