Just took a call at UCSF. An oncology patient of ours just asked if she can come in to use our oxygen because her concentrator only has 2 hours of battery. She’s 83.
I really don’t appreciate that the ramifications of this go beyond my plans to watch football.
We're out in the inner sunset as well. Fortunately everything is all charged up and batteries are fresh after last weekend. On the bright side, more ammo for the anti PGE movement here, not that we needed it
Alright. How do we file a claim for loss of food? Do we have to wait 60 days?
The website says “If you are a residential customer who has gone without power for 48 consecutive hours or greater because of severe storm conditions, you may qualify for an automatic payment under our Safety Net program. This program provides a payment of $25-100, which is paid automatically about 60 days following the storm outage.”
Damn. Did they give a reason why? I’m out of town but going back in a few days. I’m sure everything in my fridge/freezer is a goner. Not excited to purchase everything again and honestly not even sure if I should because of all the power issues.
Your fridge food is probably fine. It retains a lot of cold if you don’t open the doors at all. We came back from Christmas travel with blinking oven clocks but completely intact and still-frozen food.
Because your food refroze after it was thawed when the power came back…duh. Stuff on the fridge side is more dangerous. But hey, sometimes people die from food poisoning sometimes they don’t. Sometimes people get diarrhea and sometimes they don’t.
Do not let PG&E off the hook! Keep the momentum going and realize they are charging whatever they want while fuking up our service. It is 2025 yet their infrastructure is stuck in the 80s. What happened to fully underground? They too busy trimming trees and their execs pubes to modernize
Replacing PGE should become the default question for any SF Supervisorial and Mayoral candidate. But I'm sure the re-open the Great Highway bootlickers will find a way to oppose this as well.
Maybe PG&E has gone back to the rolling blackout tactics of Enron at this point. I mean if Enron happened in 2025, none of those executives would go to prison.
And PG&E knowingly gave people cancer, tumors, and miscarriages in Hinkley, so I wouldn't put anything less nefarious past them. I would be more surprised if they DIDN'T do stuff like this.
Yes this is why I unplug all my sensitive equipment until power is stable. Ive gotten bit before. I only trust stuff plugged into a fully isolated UPS.
Reported to PGE but at this point kinda feels like just pissin into the wind
there is a piss and wind outage, as well.
Everyone should piss on PGE
When pissing on PG&E, it’s always best practice to piss in a cup and throw it so you don’t get electrocuted.
Who knows? You may even prevent a substation fire.
So that's why there's been all these fires! Not enough citizens chucking piss cups at PGE!!
Yes.

Hopefully they’ll give us another $200 credit (on our $400 bill)
Mine is out in Inner Sunset, 6th Ave & Kirkham

44th and Lincoln. Everything to the west seems still on and everything east of here is dark. Looks like another Saturday stolen from us by PG&E.
Still have power at 43rd
Yeah, this just missed me by half a block. I’m on 12th south of Judah
Customers affected

PGE fucks given

Thanks for taking one for the team all the same. What a holiday season it's been for the inner sunset.
PG&E didn't even bother to report this time
Lower Haight at Duboce Park is out
Oh wow, then this is affecting more than just the sunset.
Hello darkness, my old friend.
same. looks like we're in some small pocket of getting fucked.
Mine is out in Inner Sunset near UCSF.
This issue of PG&E’s monopoly needs to be an issue candidates for governor are pressed on.
Honestly, there are obviously way bigger issues than PG&E. It’s just a political distraction.
People are quite capable of dealing with more than one problem at a time.
lol sounds like this is your first time learning about the government?
Better sit down, because you’re gonna be disappointed…
I’m down in Duboce Triangle and received a text from PG&E: “Investigating potential outage near [address]. More info to follow soon.”
The PGE rep told me they intentionally turned the power off to fix a piece of equipment that was damaged in the storm.
They followed up with a 3:45pm estimate for restoration.

Let’s make sure we all hold PG&E accountable.
We’ve done this before, itemized everything, claim was rejected. Waste of time.

The probably only give of pre-generated responses. The actual reason is because they don't want to pay out.

No. We had a tub of ice cubes in the freezer. They all still had their shape. It all stayed frozen.

Well yall… here we go again.
Glen Park has an outage too
34th and Judah is out too.
That’s so weird, 28th & judah has power
We might be on a different grid. It just missed us by a block, but we have family who are out of power. We're recharging all our devices just in case.
Lower Haight affected too
Just got a call that says power eta is 3:45…we’ll see about that
PGE rep told me that this one was because they needed to fix a piece of equipment so they turned off power intentionally.
Out all along Lincoln to the beach
We are on Lincoln and 31st, 5000+ without power…. those sunny blue skies are treacherous this time of year ;(
Duboce triangle / upper marker as well :(

Fine in mid sunset. But this is reminding me to charge my phone.

affected areas: Central Cole Valley, Haight, Outer Sunset and more.
Cause “storm”
I didn’t think the PG&E CEO could be more hated but the new guy is something else
How fuked will it be for businesses to restock what they lost last week only to lose inventory again..
Outage on a Saturday again
Out on 32nd and Judah
Wow
Again? Why??
We gotta replace PGE- finally
Good lawd. Charging iPhone now to capacity which I never do unless i’m passed out.
AGAIN?
Key Question: Will it get worse as the day goes on?
My money is on Yes.
Was planning to head to a friend's in the Richmond, but might just go to the beach instead..
PGE can't give more credits out right? They're gonna to be operating at a loss for December.
Duboce Triangle as well.
Power on my neck of the woods on 38th/Irving was just restored around 2:10 PM.
Replacing PGE should become the default question for any SF Supervisorial and Mayoral candidate. But I'm sure the re-open the Great Highway bootlickers will find a way to oppose this as well.
3.45 PM is the estimated time shown on the site, just came to SFPL to read some books.
Anyone who DIDN’T lose power last Saturday and lost power today? Or same customers being affected?

It just came on for 10 seconds.
Yes this is why I unplug all my sensitive equipment until power is stable. Ive gotten bit before. I only trust stuff plugged into a fully isolated UPS.

Power is fine in inner sunset but wifi is down
