I’m a full-time firefighter but I have always been interested in sales. I love the idea of getting paid more the harder you work. That being said, I don’t really want to leave my firefighting job because of the benefits and schedule. I realize if I want to do sales on the side, it will have to be a 1099/commission only job. Any recommendations on some decent industries or products to try to get into that can be done 1099? My schedule allows me 3-4 days off per week that I can commit to this sales job.
Solar or roofing usually a good place to start
Solar 100% spend a week learning the entire script and sales process then you can hit 20-40k a month
I’m new to sales and trying to break in. Is solar relatively easy to get hired into if you start as a setter, or do most companies still want prior experience?
Yeah so this math is is you spend 5-7 hours a day knocking 5 days a week mon-Friday. In my experience just download Zillow and hit the houses with good roofs 1800+ square feet. No golfcourses with gated security and you’re good. (Avoid small renter neighborhoods it’s a waste of time). Assuming you get 3-7 leads per day you can assume that at least 2 leads will close for the entire month minimum. (I’ve had 8 close in a month) . My main product I sold was PPAs through sunpower but now I have a network of dealers and installers and I have my own contractual redline I set myself. Terrible thing is trump with the tax credit cuts for homeowners. I used to heavily sell on this last couple years and was a fun selling point. Thing is you could likely sell flooring or windows or construction etc anything that is 20k-50k deal size and clear 20k a month at least.
Where are you located? We are hiring part-time firefighting equipment sales reps. Lots of companies like us hire part time reps that work fulltime in public safety

Ok, will send you a dm
Home fireproofing and water proofing
You'll need to be available to clients and prospective clients, which could make doing both an issue.
Let’s connect and work together I probably would be able to help you out !

Search Lead Generation companies. They are frequently in need of commission-only cold callers.
