Anyone heading back this weekend or have plans thrown off by the snow in the north east? I'm ready to back in my walkable neighborhood and get some fried mushrooms from the Village
One of my cousins moved to Tampa following a girl, and it took him 14 hours to drive from there to Dinwiddie a couple days before Christmas. He said he left at 8:30 in the morning and arrived at his parents' place at 10:30 at night. What a nightmare.
I wonder whatever happened to the guy with the Green Lambo Huracan. Last I remember seeing him was around 2015/2016 and he hung around the Westchester area in Chesterfield. I hope he still has that car.
People from Richmond and Pittsburgh tend to really click. There are a lot of similarities. I think Richmonders are more sarcastic and more funky, a little more punk rock, a little more political. Pittsburgh folks are a little more blue collar, industrial, and more homey. Think people are less cliquish in Pittsburgh in good part due to the homeyness. Kinda that classic Appalachianish vibe, we're all brothers/sisters just trying to make a dollar kinda vibe. Think people in Richmond are a bit more dynamic in their personality.
I love Pittsburgh folks. We tend to really get along well.
I’m actually reading this at the Village! Came back from SWVA yesterday after a couple of days with family and am happy to be decompressing in my homeland
I'm in upstate New York, house/cat sitting for a family member for the holidays and enjoying the snow! We got about a foot last night, the neighbors kindly used their snow blower on the driveway for me this morning. 🥰
Talk to me more about those fried mushrooms though...?
After how stressful prep was, hosting this week was fairly straightforward and low-key. Did get a bit burnt out on Day 3, but a few hours after they left, my mom called and said it was the best Christmas she can remember. That made all the planning and errands and grocery shopping and cleaning 100% worth it. Yes, I cried.
Gave my son a Switch for Xmas. Shout-out to DawnStar for selling a used one cheaper than anywhere else, and for recommending Kirby. Currently taking turns with my BIL as player 2, and my kid is having a BLAST.

Glad we stayed in town! It’s been a really nice holiday long weekend. Safe travels getting back!

I love em! Also, I finally finished "This is How you Lose the Time War."

Ready to get out of this snow and back to some semi-cool weather for the holidays
Driving to Jersey and just hoping the snow won't be awful! 95N has been horrid so far :/
Can anyone tell me when City Dogs tends to get busy? Was thinking of heading there for my birthday but would rather not be stuck waiting for a table.
The Google metrics show 8-9 as the peak times, ymmv
Well I definitely want to be there earlier than that.
