The OP is making a joke because кулак 👊 means fist but in this poster refers to the Kulaks who were prosperous farmers deemed as enemies of the state during Stalin's reign. This poster is anti-pope and anti-kulak propaganda promoting communism and saying "our farms are no place for popes or capitalism" basically
a поп is an orthodox christian priest. the russian word for pope is папа (as in, папа римский). also, the кулак is only one part of the fisting joke, as попа also means butt (both поп and попа take the same form in plural dative - попам, although with different stresses). its also worth that kulaks in 1920s ussr werent 'prosperous farmers', but wealthy peasants able to employ other peasants on their farms and stockpile vast amounts of grain, effectively controlling the grain market. 'farmer' sounds wrong, and ignores the fact that the historical peasantry (a completely separate economic class) and modern farm owners are quite different
edit: forgot to include the grammatical number with the case
Of course, it's not easy for someone who doesn't speak other Finno-Ugric languages, like Finnish :)
For those who speak German, it's probably a bit easier, as Estonian has borrowed a lot from German.
Estonians help to some extent (they are very supportive of those learning the language, regardless of nationality), but the older generation of Estonians tends to hinder progress (if they see you're struggling to speak Estonian and realize you're Russian, they switch to Russian).
The younger generation (born in the 90s and later), with the exception of ethnic Russians, mostly does not speak Russian at all (there are exceptions, such as when they have Russian friends, etc., but these are rather the exception).
And the state helps as much as it can - there are free online/offline courses up to and including the B1 level. Personally, I only completed A1 and then studied with a private bilingual teacher (Russian-Estonian) because my schedule was critical, but my wife completed A1-B1 through the state courses.
// The User Flair indicates an officially confirmed level; I passed the state exam for level A2 with a score of 76%. The next goal is to pass B1, to obtain permanent residency and, eventually, citizenship (and, of course, to be able to communicate relatively freely with people, although English + Russian are generally enough, it's just not the same).
Overall, I enjoy learning it because it's both a "challenge" - it's hard to learn - and it sounds very beautiful; it's a very melodic language, just like Finnish, that is a rarity. English, German, Spanish, French and others sound great too, but not in the same way.
English like Estonian have no future tense and no gender! 🙈
I have heard some Estonian music myself, and can understand some Estonian (again, through borrowed English & German words), but that’s about it for understanding Estonian. ☺️
Canadian weather kinda sucks in some ways. I have some of the “longest winter days” for daylight, and some of the “shortest summer days” as for daylight. 🙈
It can be -10’C one day, and +5’C within 36-48 hours during January for me, but having an evening with +60km/ph wind gusts. 🤷🏼♀️
Estonian sounds beautiful though, despite the Baltic Sea dampening local weather! 🥹💕🇪🇪🏞️🌊
Wow, Canadian bro/sis here - hope to see you guys in the EU some day :)
We don't really have a proper winter here - there's snow, of course, but the thing about the Baltic is that it falls and melts right away.
As a result, there's slush everywhere made of ice that hasn't melted yet and melted snow.
It's especially "fun" when the ice hasn't melted but the "snow" has a layer of water forms on top of the ice, and it's slippery as fuck. In Estonia and Finland, they deal with this relatively successfully by sprinkling pedestrian paths with special stone chips.

It doesn’t say
Maybe it should've.. 🤔
Here's another difficult kinky joke.
fisting? like r/fisting??

Depending on context, either "At our collective farm, there is no place for orthodox priests and rich/exploiting peasants".
Or "At our collective farm there is no place for asses and fists".
Ohh I missed that part haha

I think that this part might be confusing for non-russian-speakers and a bit redundant here, "поп" = "priest" explanation should be enough :)
What’s it like to learn Estonian? 🤷🏼♀️🇪🇪

TL;DR: English was much easier :D

Yeah, "no sex, no future" in Estonia :D (to others: Estonian doesn't have gender and has no future tense).
They also say that there are two good things in Estonia: the weather and the language.
Because of them, no one wants to come here, and that's why it's so good for us introverts :)

P.S. DM'd you :)
I see. I didn't realize there was this difference. Thanks for the info!
Right, she is against butts and fists

Попы и кулаки costs three hundred roubles!!!!
My grandfather was labeled a "кулак" during the purges, but i dont blame the pissed off woman in the poster. Must've been quite unpleasant.
umm,,,
What does it say? 🤷🏼♀️
In our collective farm, no place for/to popes and kulaks.
I assume you could also translate it as: In our collective farm, no place (goes) to popes and kulaks.
300 bucks
