    Darth Bane created the rule of two. Basically it's a Sith system that there can only be a master and an apprentice. So the apprentice gets trained and when he gets stronger than the master, he kills the master and becomes the master. Now he finds an apprentice and trains them.

    Apparently there are 32 cycles of that, called rule 32. However most sources inflate that number to 34 because of the sequels or something. To learn more, google inflation rule 34.
