And you know what’s wild. People in our generation calls these guys “real men” because they paid for everything. Completely ignoring the social economic positions of these women. Like of course he paid for everything. She didn’t want to be with him and women weren’t really allowed work or store wealth so the least he could do is pay.
My Mum was my Dad’s manager. She had a huge crush on him, pursued him, and was earning way more than him by the time they married. Subsequently in her wedding photos, she’s beaming. Thank god for feminism letting women have the lives these women wished for.
