“Ooo look at me, I like the new band everyone likes”
“Ooo look at me, I don’t like the new band everyone likes”
“Ooo look at me, I am a performative male”
“Ooo look at me, I hate performative males”
“Ooo look at me, I love Paul Thomas Anderson”
SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!!!!
Lemme guess, you're 27 years old
clocked my shit immediately
Got em
Wait till you're 30 young blood
Are you talking about Geese
They always are
Lmao, the "controversy" surrounding Geese is so funny to me. Because they really aren't unorthodox enough to warrant such polarizing views (although a feel like a lot of the hate is just people jerking on indiecirclejerk). Like, people complain that Cameron's voice is too weird and thats strange cause it really isn't that weird. Its not like he's post Heartattack and Vine Tom Waits. Honestly, his singing voice (especially on 3D Country) is one of the selling points for me.
the controversy around geese is that cameron’s father is a jingle writer with huge connections in the music industry and the drummer’s (deceased) father was a major music label executive. they had a NYT article out about them before their first record even released in 2021. they’re the modern day strokes.
Julian Casablancas be like: hold my beer
They def sound like nepo babies trying to pass off a pastiche of fairly disparate influences as original art
I railed a bunch of K and and listened for the first time after seeing them mentioned a bunch online and I was pretty disappointed. I'm an aging musician and came across YHWH Nailgun the other day and I was like, wow, I only sort of get it, but you're doing something new at least
He’s not even at Jeff Magnum levels of wailing.

“Heaven knows I’m miserable now~”
“Get off my lawn” maxing.
two of these are just people saying things they like
Everyone hating but I get it. Maybe I just hate myself though! Always possible
Chill unc, we don’t want your heart to give out
I only listen to GRIM and Cukor Bila Smert so I never run into this problem
we all age out and become irrelevant to “the culture”
if you’re lucky, you can have friends that cut across generations
I like to slice up a bunch of cucumbers and eat them raw sometimes.
Real
I was a bit this way in the years pre- and post-Covid. I wasn't "that young" anymore and I was having major life changes.
But then I realized how the social discourse, art, music and movies had always been so important to me and realized I didn't have to feel "old". In the end being updated and upkeeping with novelties I managed to be happier, to stay healthier and not to grow into an angry neocon.
Merry Christmas.
I do agree the sudden trendiness of the term ‘performative’ is annoying.

can you make another post about being sick of old people too?
