Rome in Winter

I was there two summers ago and I don’t remember the new looking tile and steps. Is this a recent addition?

    Yes!

I live here and I didn’t remember that part as well, I looked it up: apparently both the tiles and the upper part above the 1st layer of columns are originals which needed restoration!

You can look any new project and addition on the new website https://www.romasitrasforma.it/en/intervento/culture/trajans-forum-arrangement-and-enhancement-south-porticoed-area

The new major is doing an amazing work!

    You’re welcome, I’m glad you’re interested!

And me too! I walked there hundreds of times and I was like “Wait… how come I didn’t notice all that until now?” Then I read your comment pointing out the same thing ahaha

It looks beautiful. I’m excited to come back and see it! Not sure when but this fives me added incentive to get back to Rome.

You’ll always be welcomed back ❤️ and I truly hope you’ll have a great time

Another interesting recent addition is the new Colosseum underground station, if you haven’t seen it

If you need help with anything related to your travel feel free to ask me!

About that, keep in mind Rome it’s also one of the few cities to have an integrated AI assistant (at chatgpt levels) that you can ask anything to: https://julia.comune.roma.it/en/ It’s very useful as it only gets informations from official channels and it’s neutral (it’s conceived to be an anti-algorithm to fight social networks, providing you different options you can truly choose from instead of giving you just the most appreciated ones by other people)

    Thank you very much!

We did the underground tour when we were there two years ago and found it to be fascinating!

    You’re welcome!

And yes, underground tours are indeed very interesting! There is an amazing one underneath Navona square as well (the whole square was built upon an ancient Roman arena!)

What I meant though was “underground station” as in “metro station”: they just opened a week ago the new metro station underneath the Colosseum which has a free museum inside it
