Allegra! Dear Romansh speakers, I'm trying to translate some short sentences from English to Sursilvan Romansh. Could someone tell me if they are correct?
Bright path, take me home. -> I think "Senda clara, guida mei a casa." is alright?
Unity of strength and beauty -> From what I found, I guess ''Unitad da forza e bellezia" is good enough but just wanted to make sure.
Forward to our common future. -> Perhaps "Anavon nos avegnir communabel"?
I was using this dictionary - https://www.vocabularisursilvan.ch/index.php - as I know some German, and https://www.mypledari.ch/ but I just wanted to make sure they are correct. Any help will be welcome!
Grazia!
I think it's mostly correct :). But I would do two changes:
1) Instead of "guida mei" I think "meina mei" (= guide me) or "pren mei" (= take me) are more suitable.
2) it's "nies avegnir communabel". "Nos" is used, when the referenced noun is plural, but "avegnir" is singular, therefore you have to use "nies".
Thank you very much for your help. It's always great if you can rely not only on dictionaries. :)
First sentence I would write „meina“ instead of guida. Second sentence is spot on, third sentence I would write „Vinavon a nies futur communabel“
Hello! I wish I could help you. I wanted to reach out because I am trying to learn simple sentences as well. I guess we are in the same boat.
In addition to what others said I‘d use „cumminonza da forza e bellezia“ instead of unitad. But overall nice job!
