Yes it mentions hobby lobby brand yarn, but I still think it's fake. It calls for a crochet hook, but tells you to knit the sock (and barely anyone crochets socks). Plus most patterns inside ball bands would not leave that much empty space. Also, no one knits socks in cotton for a reason. The inconsistent font sizes is sketchy too.
Edit: oh! This is also not sock yarn. Which would make turning it into a monkey more difficult due to bigger stitches.
Why does it explicitly warn not to stuff the monkey with yams or other vegetables?
Vegitables*
wait WHAT?!?! i didn’t notice until now that is so wild
Maybe it's not too late for you to get the yam out.
There's always time to get the yam out.
Sock monkeys should be stuffed with sock bananas.
peak /r/restofthefuckingowl . I love it
This isn't /r/restofthefuckingowl; this is /r/allofthefuckingowl
Pretty sure that isn't real
I'd bet it is; it looks like a pattern from one of Hobby Lobby's brands of yarn.

No yams
I think it would be easier to construct a monkey any other way from scratch, honestly.
This seems like a puppet idea to implement if you already have a sock on hand.
a sock is one of the easiest things to knit
