I think the funniest thing is that even his avid supporters don't really gaf at this point about his nonsense, they know he's crazy so they just ignore those inconvenient parts. From what I've heard even among his 'target audience' many people are getting unhappy. So he doesn't really need to gain 'support' anymore, he just needs to keep people from voicing any displeasure with threats and total control.
